craftyhunnypie Posted March 30, 2011 Share Posted March 30, 2011 Poor Betty Boop my beautiful Araucana has been hunched for a few days so has been put in the hospital ward. When I picked her up she was extremely light! Hubby has given her a choice of layers pellets, some boiled rice & some wheat & will try anything to get some weight back on her. She came back into lay about a week or so ago, but nothing since. Could an egg have ruptured or could it be worse? Is there anything we can try to help? She was my only green egg layer - I called her my Easter egg chicken - as we got her Easter Sunday 2 years ago. She was already laying when we bought her. I now think she was older when we got her. Such a lovely girl - I do have a photo of her that is gorgeous - but today wouldn't be appropriate to post it. Bye bye Betty Boop.
