Luvachicken
I have only just started giving my girls the crushed egg shell ( since sageandonion gave me some ) although they have always had grit, and they really seem to love it. How much should they be eating ? Can they have too much or do they only eat what they need ?
Chucky Mama
I just bake it for 5 mins, crush it and sprinkle it on their food, I don't really measure it out.
Luvachicken
I've been putting it in one of those gally pots and they really go for it.
percy049
I just sprinkle a 'pinch' on their food when i bring it in a night.
txswanie
i just boil up the extra eggs and smash them all up, shell included. Works out to about 4 a week for 6 chickens.
LuckyChickenLover-
I also add a little bit to their food every day About a spoonful is plenty.
beach chick
I just kind of give it when I have been bothered to do it, and if it's there it's there... doesnt really seem to make much difference to my lot! sorry, very unhelpful, but if they have grit then I just view the eggshells as a bonus. soapdragon
We don't give eggstra shell or grit; our girls FR all day and their egg shells are always really hard! If that changed then I would, of course, supplement, but they are doing just fine on their own for the moment!
