What's every body doing on Friday?

Recommended Posts

I'm going to my step & zumba classes as usual but will set the box to record it so I can fast forward the dull bits  .

I was almost exactly the same age as ES is now when Charles & Diana got married so dug out some old photos.

I was working at a hotel in Cornwall after my first year at uni. This is the only evidence that something was afoot, I can't remember a thing about the day  . I'm on the right, the bloke in the middle was French and I think worked at the same hotel.

I'm going to watch with the children. DD has her posse over and they all want to see the marriage of their future King. I wasn't particularly interested to start with but have become excited because of their interest which I think is lovely as they are 13,15 and 17 and they have surprised me as they have come all over patriotic. They are not interested or impressed by celebrity but very much want to watch.

DD and her friend got back about 6 - exhausted and dehydrated :shameonu: but having thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We had recorded the whole thing for them to watch, as they'd obviously not been able to see it although they had heard it. As the crowd is walking towards Buckingham Palace we actually were able to see them in the crowd - never heard such high pitched screaming :lol:

A fantastic day and one that they will definitely remember for ever. :D

The weather was good, we camped in the hills above Black Sail and hiked up Great Gable. Exhausted and tucked up in our sleeping bags under the stars we gazed at the milky way with only a distant owl for company. It was a great weekend.

I did have a look at the Saturday papers when we got home and I must say Kate looked lovely.................isn't William bald though :lol::lol: I didn't realise. They looked so happy and relaxed; such a contrast to that scared resigned look Diana had the day she wed our future King. I wish them the very best.

Well we got a lot if decorating done over the two long weekends - painted our bedroom, banisters and wide dado rail down the stairs, lounge, dining room, kitchen and have done several doors inside and out, including the garage door. Still got a lot more to do but made good headway and I still got to see the main part of the Wedding. I really wasn't that bothered about it, had had enough of all the hype beforehand but did enjoy seeing the ceremony.
