Where's my eglu?

Recommended Posts

 my eglu was supposed to be delivered today, been looking forward to it all week.. It still wasn't here by 2 a'clock, so we contacted omlet, they said the couriers delivered till after 5 and that it was coming today, so i thought, great, plenty of time... The clock ticked by.. every car going past i thought- is that it... It wasn't..

So it's still not here, and we paid for it to be delivered today :(:( ... And i was supposed to be getting my chooks tomorrow. :(:(:( So we have no where to keep them.. my dads talking about making them temporary housing.. Which is all very well...

But Eglu oh Eglu where art thou...

So I have been :cry::cry: Lots of today..

And it was supposed to be delivered today- and we weren't told any different, or that it had been cancelled...

Anyone else had something similar happen to them???

And I was so looking forward to today :(

And I still haven't been told where on earth my eglu is...

:?:?:?:?:?:?

I'm guessing that it's not Omlets fault - if they have passed it to the courier, then it'll be the courier at fault - it should probably arrive first thing tomorrow. I vaguelly remember when mine came, the couriers were the chaps in the green and yellow vans (their name escapes me just now) - once Omlet hand the package to them, then it's out of their hands and in the hands of a third party.

Did Omlet give you any hint to what courier they were using nowadays?

Edited to add: Mine arrived by courier a day early.....

Nope they didn't mention the couriers, omlets been very helpful, replying to emails and such. The couriers could have got lost maybe.. But pretty unlikely as my house is very recognisible. I wish I lived close enough to get it delivered by the eglu van!

Couriers can be a law unto themselves sometimes, but it's a shame that they've done this on a Friday - I'm not terribly sure that anyone will be in the Omlet office tomorrow to help. :(:(

Poor you, I would be devestated if that had happened to me when i got my Eglu.

i'm so sorry, how very disappointing. I live in Sheffield and mine was delivered on Tuesday.

I don't know if it's of any use, but I still have the phone number of the courier who delivered to me - it may well be the same people - but I don't know the company name. It's 01604 813 438. You need to say it's an omlet delivery and give your postcode. Might be worth a try in the morning.

Good luck.

Doesnt surprise me.The courier who delivered my eglu was the Chuckle Brothers in a Van Ltd- they left my eglu outside someone's garage on my lane out in the snow. Their explanation was that they had talked to a 'neighbour' (who I have never subsequently met, don't know who she was) who said it was ok to leave it there, I was in my house at the time, if he had driven 20 yards he would have been at my front door.No-one told me it had been left where it was, its only cos I'm a stroppy cow I rang the courier firm and found out what their moron driver had done. I then had to trudge out in the snow to find it and lug it to my front door. I rang the manager back and asked him if he was being paid to provide a delivery service or an abandonment service.

*deep breath* thank you for opening this thread and letting me vent this. i hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction.

Poor you Gina, how disappointing :(

Fingers crossed it will come tomorrow morning.

It would be well worth (once you have your eglu safely in your garden) putting in a complaint to the courier firm. Sometimes delays are unavoidable but it is only courtesy to give the customer a call to explain. I expect Omlet will want to know about it too - after all you have paid for a service which has not met the required standards....they can then try and sort out the couriers.

Big hugs x

How very disappointing. I do hope you sorted out somewhere to keep the chooks while you wait.

I work for TNT and here in Denmark there are no deliveries at all at weekends, but I know things are different in the UK and will keep my fingers crossed for a delivery tomorrow.

As I don't know who is delivering your eglu I can't say what the setup is like, but I know from experience that sometimes a lot of different circumstances can all conspire against certain deliveries. Murphy's Law where everything that can go wrong does go wrong. Poor you, I feel for you and hope that when it DOES arrive it will fully live up to your expectations and that you used a good brand of tissues so you're not too sore around the nose and eyes.

Good for you.

Omlet is really good with deliveries normally, it is just blatently the courier company :(

Couperwife I would say you were missing things, it is a lot of money.

I hate that omlet can't deliver to the north, there must be a significant number of orders :?

I had my Omlet netting delivered yesterday from Omlet and they used NightFrieght - I don't know if they used a different company for this delivery as I had it sent next day delivery.

Could be worth giving the local branch a call and finding out if it's with them.

(I am not a fan of Nightfrieght - my brother was towing my mum's caravan when a Nightfrieght lorry hit it and cracked the caravan window - and didn't stop either!!)

Really hope you get your Eglu soon

A

xx

It's still not here, but we have some temporary housing in the form of a large double rabbit run.. The new chooks seem to like it, They've eaten some sweetcorn, and the guy we brought them of was very good, gave us a months supply of the bird food he makes himself for free, to use whilst waiting for the eglu. :)

The chooks are gorgeous... :D

Soo sorry for you. These courier firms really are a nightmare aren't they? When I lived in my old house, terraced on busy street with a very open front I once got home to find a delivery on my doorstep - large and easily seen by every passer by. Was it worth stealing - no, was it valuable - priceless. I contained completed exam papers delvered for me to mark!

Same year they also failed to deliver some of my expected papers, I phoned the school who said they had sent them 2 weeks ago and gave me the tracking number. I checked online and it said "at depot". I phoned up and the girl said yes they are here, I said I'd never recieved a card and she said "oh no, this driver has done this before - I've had lots of complaints about him not leaving cards".

Give me the Royal Mail any day!
