westie mum
Yesterday was a very sad day for us as we had to make the decision every pet owner hates. Our 17 year old Westie was diagnosed a few weeks ago with liver cancer. Over last weekend she deteriorated badly and so we came to the decision after consulting the vet. I have got to know the staff at the vets really well this year what with Freya's condition, one of the other dogs having an eye complaint and 1 of my chooks who has bumlefoot. I have just had a knock on the from one of the staff from the vets and he gave me a condolence card and a beautiful potted plant. He asked if we were all ok and said that the staff from the practise just wanted to say how sorry they were about Freya. It's knocked me for six but I think it is a wonderful gesture. bluekarin
Oh, I'm very sorry to hear about your dog. It is a hard decision I know, as we had to make it earlier this year for our cat But what a lovely thing for the vets to do.

Lavenders_Blue
That is a very kind and thoughtful gesture from the vets. So sorry to hear about the loss of your dog, but what a great age she lived to. She clearly had a very very happy home with you.
