What has uphill car racing fronted by a sports presenter and big yacht sailing got to do with the countryside?

Does anybody else wonder or is it just me.

DH briefly flipped over to Top Gear and I told him I wasn't surprised Richard Hammond was racing up the hill. I didn't realise he'd changed channel

completly agree with you, i was very dissapointed, especially seeing it was the first one i'd been in to watch for weeks.

I'm afraid I haven't watched it for a while now. I used to watch it whilst ironing when it was on a Sunday lunchtime then it covered more country matters. The format changed when the programme moved to Sunday evenings and I think it has tried to appeal to a wider audience.

I agree, I wasn't that impressed with yesterday's episode. It wasn't even a proper race uphill!

It went badly downhill when John Craven left. I didn't like the new series after that and haven't watched it since. OH does occasionally but it really is rubbish.

Ditto. I watch Countrywise or tracks or whatever it is called on a Sunday morning, but it's not the same. Bring back Countryfile in the morning BBC!

Unless he's come back again - he left it to a couple of other guys and a girl. (maybe 2 girls - can't remember). I think he had the good sense to see what was coming. The only bit I did like after that was the fellow with the rare breed farm. But that was ages and ages ago. Yes - dumbing down is the best way to describe it. Insulting really. It's a bit like the "it's not easy being green" - that was fairly OK until they really spoilt it by dumbing it down well below dumb!

Adam's Farm is about the only decent bit of the programme, the rest is quite frankly pants! The uphill car racing was a total load of nonsense and I couldn't see either what it was to do with the countryside.

Wouldn't it be better to have Adams farm as a separate programme altogether? I think he has a lot to say and it's always interestin on his rare breed farm. He is a damn sight more knowlegable than Jimmy know nothing and they keep giving him shows!
