freddie
Well, completing today, and moving over the next three or four days... Still packing boxes, and waiting for the keys..... Stress? Naah Got the pup a "moving " bone, to keep her occupied, and am moving the hens after we've done some necessary fencing! Never moving again. LolaLayla
Good luck with the move. Remember to mark which box has the kettle in it
ClaireG
Good luck with it all. A tip for packing your plates, if you havn't packed them already is use paper plates between them, rather than wrapping in newspaper. It works better and you don't have to wash newsprint of the plates before you can use them!

TheGirlsMum
Good luck I remember waiting for the keys was the worst bit, was supposed to be delivered to us but ended up many hours later having to go to the estate agents.
snowberry
Best of luck; tis tradition round here that photos of new pad must be posted at the first opportunity!
freddie
Only once we've cleaned it. it's really , esp the bathroom We've been scrubbing away since midday, and are now back at home, in spartan bliss with a ready meal in the oven (asda Fish, and oven chips!) craftyhunnypie
Good luck - microwave & kettle are a must! Don't get stressed, it's not worth it. I also had a small case of clothes to keep me going until I unpacked my main clothes. Corkscrew & glasses were pretty urgent on the list too. Time went no where on moving day - but it was fun. Enjoy every minute of it!!!! Best of luck.. Emma.xx
Calamity Jane
Good luck with everything. I must admit to having a bit of a phobia about moving house

craftyhunnypie
We were lucky when we moved in here 3 weeks ago. All freshly painted - clean, crisp & a blank canvas..No work to do! Sat here with the fire lit - believe me, you'll do the same soon & think wow it was worth it! Emma.x
freddie
Apparently the old part is lime plastered, so i need special paint for that. Off to homebase later, after another load or two.............. the new bit is any paint friendly!(thank goodness, as that's the bit I've done. Raining buckets here, so all the leaks are showing
Seagazer
Does sound exhausting but very exciting too! Hope the move goes really well.
freddie
It's been awful. the house leaks like a sieve(so much for advanced survey) There is a windfarm going up about half mile away that never showed on the survey either. Not sure how this will affect us. Left the hens at the old home overnight, having shut them in at about 8.30pm, as we needed to do a load of fencing Tuesday to get a run for them, and came back Tues 8am to find them all dead, and a ferret. This would have happened whether we were here or not, but I'm in bits. Last night, after torrential rain all weekend, the drains failed, so we were up half the night digging up the back yard and rodding drains out to stop the garage flooding. Dont talk to me about the rural dream. And DS has a filthy cold. I need gin
Purplemaniacs
Oh no I am so sorry to hear that things are so difficult. So sad about the chickens, had not thought of a ferret attacking them, it must have been such as shock for you expecially after all your work to prepare their new home I hope things improve for you soon. Seagazer
Oh no, that's awful, I'm so sorry. Not a good start. I hope you got your gin and that your rural dream improves.
freddie
Got fleas now! Not the humans, but the animals. We did spray the house from top to bottom before we moved in, but not the outbuilding(it was empty, bar an old reasonable looking sofa, and we forgot). Dog was crawling with then this morning, so a catching I did go. Sorted out the drains, OH dug up the back yard. It looks like a WW1 enactment But it's stopped raining; and I got to take the pup out for a decent walk before heading off to work this morning
