Lovely coincidence

Recommended Posts

I have always been a working mum. I was back at work when DS was only 6 weeks and have pretty much worked constantly since. In the last couple of years I have been able to work part time but he has been at school and at weekends he has been with his dad. However, my new timetable leaves me with every other Friday free and DS, who has just started 6th form, is also free the afternoon of every other Friday, the same one as me! He is taking me out for lunch today! I am really looking forward to it. He is becoming such a lovely young man (I know I am biased but he is) and it is lovely to be able to spend some quality time together, just the two of us.

That is lovely :D young people get such a bad press these days, but the vast majority are great people with good family values etc. My ED is nearly 18 and we are looking forward to taking her out for an evening meal on her birthday and spending some relaxed time with her, she is great company and it has been a pleasure to bring her up. We have a good relationship with all 3 of our children and with our eldest this is gradually moving from parent and child into deep friendship.

Have a lovely lunch :D

I hope your daughter has a lovely birthday. It is so true what you say about the way teenagers get such bad press. We have had a great afternoon and chatted about all sorts of things.
How lovely enjoy your precious time together they grow up so fast. :)
Don't they just. I kept looking at him thinking I feel way too young to have this big rugby player for a son :-P

After everything I said earlier we had a massive blow up with ED this evening when OH came in from work about her UCAS application, it is all sorted now and happens very rarely. Glad that you had a lovely lunch with your son, it is great to spend one to one time with a child (as we still see them) especially if you have 3 or more.

as for my 7 month old Grandson well, he just lights up my life!
How wonderful. I bet he feels just the same about you. I was very close to my grandmother who was an amazing person. We had such a wonderful relationship even when I was a stroppy teen :-P
After everything I said earlier we had a massive blow up with ED this evening when OH came in from work about her UCAS application' date=' it is all sorted now .[/quote'] Yes, it's that time of year when the pressure is on to get the applications in. I am trying to get the UCAS applications completed at school. I think it is a difficult time for students. They are getting back into A2 courses after a long break, being chased at school for UCAS and it is probably being discussed at home. For some it can be hard as the realisation of moving away from home and all that entails sinks in. It's no wonder that even mature and sensible kids need to let off steam from time to time. Glad you've got it sorted.
