Well it didn't snow during October. At least not where I live and according to country file it is going to stay mild for the rest of this week.

It certainly is mild at the moment - went out with the dog this afternoon wearing a long sleeved top and a fleece. The fleece came off within minutes and it wasn't long after that my sleeves got pushed up. I wish I'd just gone out in a t-shirt to be honest! I'd certainly be surprised to see snow this week.

We climbed up the mountain at the back of our house today. I went with a hat, gloves & a very padded hi vis jacket I wear around the land - thinking I was a bit cool & it would be cold at the top. I was sweltering after about half an hour. We also didn't get to the top. We lost the footpath, so took our own route through fields & gates. We arrived at a field full of bulls & had to divert. We then were two fields away from the mountain top & the fort, when we were stuck. No gates, just barbed wire fencing. NO more ways up, so we had to come down.

Need to get to the top before any snow comes!!!!

Anyone else seen the reports of snow in the US?

They are awful, i have friends from my FB who have over 30cms in the garden and others who have no power and trees are down it sounds as if they have had a really bad weekend, i do hope the snow isn't coming our way.

All my friends are ok.

The only positive news I've heard about it is that it's supposed to be short-lived and followed by a thaw by the end of this week.

 

What's the betting that it's headed this way?

My niece was in New York on a Politics trip (jolly) and their flight was cancelled. She is now only just on her way home after being bumped off several flights. I bet it is on it's way to us in the next 10 days or so.
