yvonne
The recent warm wet weather seems to have fooled most of our garden into thinking it's spring - clemetis, roses, honeysuckle and loads of other plants are coming into bloom. Just hope they are still able to do it all over again after the winter. Anyone else experiencing this ?
Cinnamon
Yep,I picked a handful of strawberries yesterday. When the cold comes it is going to hit us & the garden very hard.
ali-s
We have Marigolds, Snap Dragons, Oriental Poppies and Polyanthus in flower. I am still picking Strawberrries. OH keeps cutting the grass and saying that will be the last cut of the year but still it grows. It was 19c here yesterday, in November last year it went down to -18c at night and -10c during the day with knee high snow. I think this is the calm before the storm
The Dogmother
I read somewhere that the grass carries on growing until it dips below 6deg. There are blue tits in the park playing at husbands and wives if they lay a clutch this time of year then they'll never survive I reckon that we'll get that snow from the NE US in a couple of weeks. Angie
i have a petunia that has just flowered and a primrose under the kitchen window, my jasmine has tiny red buds on it, a bit worried too. I am expecting the snow to come over from the US and have bought new thermals for my grandbabies and myself today asda and m&s have them in and are selling very fast , even the snow boots. I think people are aware that the bad weather is coming.

HappyhenSG
Same here - we have snapdragons, polyanthus and cowslips. The delphiniums are flowering again too. I also noticed a couple of collared doves getting a bit frisky with each other this morning
Lavenders_Blue
No exciting garden stories here but I did see a man in shorts while I was out walking the dog this afternoon
The Dogmother
Don't laugh - on a warm day last week when I had to rush into town for work, I spotted a woman in a summer dress and flip flops... but then our town is known for the state of undress
chickencam
I have a rose that is about to bloom, still have petunias and a new lobelia plant that must have self sown is in full flower, but on the other hand my helibores are flowering and you don't have to dig far to find bulbs sprouting. Seagazer
My mum's roses have all bloomed again in the last week - most of my plants look dead through lack of water
Ain't Nobody Here
I noticed a single crocus in the garden yesterday . Not sure why it's the only one that's popped up, there are loads under the soil .
