jess1merlin
Just wondered if anyone has every used this and if it was successful. We are going to put our house on the market after christmas and are busy tidying everything up but some of the grout in the bathroom tiles looks more cream than white. I am not keen to replace all the grout and the tiles are fine so I am hoping this will solve them problem.
WitchHazel
I bought some of this from Lakeland and used it on the bathroom to cover up soot deposits from candles. It's fine once you get the hang of it, but you have to be repared to do all the tiles, you can't just touch up a few. I'd use it again. Ain't Nobody Here
I tried a grout whitener pen years ago, it was rubbish! I now use a toothbrush and bleach. You just have to watch for runoff if you have an enamel bath.
snowberry
When I put my house on the market in August, I used this in my kitchen; it only too a couple of hours & the result was really good; I got it from B&Q.
WitchHazel
Have a clean damp cloth handy ( I used a J cloth cut into smallish pieces) for wiping off excess.
Daphne
I do the same as ANH - magic and cheap
jasperaliceuk
I recently used this and was really impressed. The only downside was keeping everyone out of the shower for 24 hours to make sure it was dry before and after use. Sue
rachel19
We use Mr Muscle Mould and Mildew remover spray - it's brilliant and actually much more effective than bleach. We also have a white plastic-style sink in the kitchen and it brings that up sparling white again. Just spray all over and leave for 10 mins then wipe off -simples! abwsco
Best thing we've found is Polycell Grout Reviver. The grout between some of our tiles is uneven and after a shower water stays on it so it's always an ongoing battle. Really need to dig out all the old grout and redo them................ poachedegg
I make a paste of bicarb and bleach - spread it on and leave for 24 hrs before washing off, does the job really well.

jess1merlin
This might seem a stupid question poachedegg but should I use thick or thin bleach to make a paste
poachedegg
This might seem a stupid question poachedegg but should I use thick or thin bleach to make a paste Not a daft question at all - I use thick bleach; I also wear rubbber gloves as it is easier to spread it on with your hands rather than an implement. cheekymonkey68
Hi Guys, I saw the clip about the man who was overcome with fumes.... this is achieved by mixing limescale remover or other alkali like bicarb, with household bleach which is acid.... it makes mustard gas! So while beautiful white grouting is very nice, please consider mixing chemicals is not generally a good idea. One of my friends did the above and was in hospital for 4 days!! ( Yes I agree ...what a Wally!!)

Ain't Nobody Here
*cough* *cough* *splutter* Still here and in good health . Bit worrying that, though . I only mixed a tiny amount as it was only a few tiles that had discoloured grouting. Thanks for the warning, Cheekymonkey, I had no idea . cheekymonkey68
Pleased to hear you are ok!! I think the magic procedure to make mustard gas needs a bit of heat, but lets not try that :) Its reminded me I need to clean the oven tho! Have a happy fun filled xmas
