jlo
This is my favourite remake: I love how quickly the people of the internet work Love it!! I do feel for the chap in the original but -as others have said - no way would Paddy be off a lead in a place like that!

Lavenders_Blue
Saw this a couple of days ago, and yes I sniggered too. Sounds like there are lots of us on here who know full well our dogs would do exactly the same thing... I can only hope nothing similar ever happens to me and, that if it does, no one is filming it! Redwing
This is my favourite remake: I love how quickly the people of the internet work Brilliant The dogs name is Benton Fenton, according to the chap who filmed it,interviewed on Absolute radio this morning. I stand corrected! It appears that its been reported as Benton everywhere - if I was the owner I would probably be glad of that as I could say 'nooooooo its not my dog, he isnt called Benton'
The Dogmother
I hear that both the owner and the filmer were interviewed on radio today - I'd have thought that they'd be keeping a low profile There are various spoofs on youtube already
The Dogmother
Latest news http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15864761 Lucky that the deer didn't turn on either the dog or owner - they might have done in the rutting season.
bluekarin
I only heard about this today after listening to Fern on radio one. I was laughing so much! She had the filmer on there explaining how he had caught the whole thing on camera. Poor dog owner. I can only assume the dog slipped its lead. Thats a lot of deer. That goodness the cars stopped on the road. Re the name: Fenton/Benton. Apparently load sof people have had tshirts printed with Benton on them. Ooops! LolaLayla
Must admit that crossed my mind too. Poor dog will have an identity crisis. I do feel sorry for the owner, as I am sure by the anguish in the owner's voice the dog must have slipped the lead......or maybe I am being naive
Ain't Nobody Here
That Lion King one is a remake of a spoof . The "original" (made yesterday, presumably!) was much shorter but just as effective!

stoice
My OH says that four deer had to be destroyed from their injuries after that chase.
The Dogmother
That's sad. I understand (from someone who lives near there) that it's not uncommon for folks to walk their dogs off-lead in the park, and the deer regularly get chased. While it's a large space and folks will want to let their dogs have a run, 'one' (sound like the queen there ) has to consider that there are deer roaming free - the deer could be injured in such a chase as could the dog if the deer turned on it. I have two hunting dogs and I wouldn't consider letting them off-lead in that environment. But then i guess that we all make different judgements and decisions. No sign of Fenton's owner - he must be mortally embarrassed and has probbaly change the dog's name.
Angie
I have to admit it was funny , and i laughed at the expense of the owner. As for the spoofs well !!! he certainly can run ..... I felt disturbed as the rut was only a few weeks ago and i worried for the deer , sad to think some of those magnificent animals had to be destroyed . I have two yorkies and my little boy Bill is not to be trusted off the lead .....at all, small he may be , but if his nose goes to ground and he gets a scent his recall is none exsistant. His yorky identity vanishes and he thinks hes a lurcher, he is off and doesn't hear you at all. (Squirrel , bird, rabbit , rat ,cat, sheep doesn't matter what ). For the best part of his eight years when out. He is on lead.....never off, yet his daughter Lula is wonderful . despite this she is never off lead either as she entices bill to misbehave , naughty of her i know. We do forget that our wonderful dog , our best friend is after all a descendent from wolves with very finely tuned hunting instincts and something at some time will be too much for him to control and Fenton had his day.....and i had a good laugh too . I did have to remind a friend of this after seeing it on the news, when she demanded the dog be destroyed .
