The Dogmother
I've just emailed that round to a few dog walking friends - didn't know whether to cringe or laugh. Thank goodness the traffic stopped. There are a few spoofs now.... Fenton/Benton (whichever it is) based on American Werewolf in London and also Jurassic park. Those ones made me laugh. Bramble
As just about all ordinary ("mortal") dog owners will be thinking ... there but for the grace of God ... Edited November 23, 2011 by Guest

The Dogmother
Very Muttley This comment on the site made me laugh: "Only the righteous chase after the deer lord, Jesus Christ. Those who don't follow are without dog."
chickencam
naughty dog, I bet he will be on a lead for a while.
The Dogmother
I don't think they'll be walking there again mind you, I'd never let a dog off-lead in the vicinity of deer, how ever well the dog is trained... and certainly NOT if they are lurchers as their natural instinct is to chase prey like that. Redwing
Anyone with dogs will recognise the hysterical panic in that guy's voice We've all been there - not to that extent though
The Dogmother
I usually shout like a fishwife as I see one of my filthy hounds diving into fox poo/a cow pat/rotten fish
Chook n Boo Mum
Oooops ........as has been said 'there but for the grace......'.....and also why the heck was he off the lead? Chortle Chook
Oh poor, guy! I feel for him. I well remember watching my OH running across a ploughed field in wellies after one of our greyhounds who was after a hare that was running towards a road. I think his words were similar to this poor chap's.Talk about not a hope in Hell! (P.S. the hare got away, the greyhound lived to see another day)
fluffy chick
The exact same thing happened to a friend of mine at work. The deer were jumping ditches and fences and it was quite scary really. Shouldn't laugh but so funny.
Cinnamon
Our dog Millie once saw a picnic across a field in Henley & just charged at it,went right through the lot, scattering food everywhere,at full pelt. They were special needs children too,on a big day out, which made it even more embarrassing I have NEVER apologised so much in my life, but in our defence she did slip her collar
Olly
Apparently the dog should not have been off the lead in Richmond Park. You do have to feel sorry for the poor guy- there was no way Fenton was going to listen to his anguished cries! I should think poor old Fenton is probably wondering why he's being shut in the kitchen every time the doorbell rings, and is only being taken for walks after dark - the newspapers are desperate to find out who his owner is!
