clucker1
After a couple of months of mixing it in their feed, I tried giving it to the girls neat. Blow me down, they liked it. Why have I been doing all that mixing Now they can have it in their treat bowl!

percy049
Does cod liver oil help boost protein levels (so help through moults and keep feathers looking healthy)?
clucker1
Well it started with my favourite chicken doing her inquisitive..."what is that to me", so I have been having her slurping it our of the lid for the last week or so. Then this morning, I decided to try it on the others and hey presto! I think it was CM who suggested it to be used when they need more calcium and the cod liver oil allows it to enter into their body (the calcium) more easily. I am sure someone will be along to give you the exact technical data!
The Dogmother
That's right, they need the D3 to help them absorb the calcium. I usually just mix it with the pellets, but then I don't have as many hens as Redwing does. It's a good general conditioner as well as helping them assimilate calcium. Sammiboo
i give mine CLO with garlic, they love it but they are pongy after... definately would keep the vampires away. I have always mixed it with a bit of corn and poultry spice as a treat.
