chick wiggle
The biscuits etc i got are all wheat and gluten free and are only for small occasional treats. I have just found a great shop on ebay though with lots of goodies for him, i may have spent a little bit Swallowhealthydiet and i got him Salmon treats Venison heart chews Ocean white fish treats Apple & cinnamon mini bones & Sweet potato rawhide chews So, they should keep him happy for a while
The Dogmother
That sounds promising any more results on his main diet?
chick wiggle
At the moment DM im sticking with what the vet gave me, he is also on tablets. I have to go back in two weeks, i will check everything with the vet then. Hes going to be sorry he ever told me to make a list of questions, the list is endless and gets longer every day But i am hoping i can start making his meals myself again then, the tinned food just looks so unappetizing and im having to put a bit of tuna in it or he just turns his nose up at it
stoice
My friend's Lasa Apso, Honey, has all the allergies you mention CW, including soya. Honey sleeps in a t-shirt sometimes to stop her scratching in the night. Bless. My friend thoroughly recommends fish4dogs as well as ostrich meat for treats as it is hypoallergenic. chick wiggle
Thanks Stoice. On a dog forum, they were saying how unreliable blood tests for allergys were I think all i can do is follow the vets advice for now and once George is settled with a 'normal' diet of foods he is allowed, then i may start to introduce foods one at a time and see how he gets on. But if blood tests are so unreliable, what, as a layperson, are we supposed to do? We cant really do skin prick tests. All i can do for now, is trust in my vet isnt it
chick wiggle
A small update, the vet called us in this morning as last weeks blood tests showed George cant absorb vit B12 naturally, probably due to inflamation of his stomach lining due to his allergys. So the poor lad had yet another injection this morning The vet did try to reassure me that George would be 'normal' eventually
The Dogmother
They can grow out of it Sandie; someone on the lurcher forum is going through something similar but I think they are a bit ahead of you and their dog seems to be getting better. chick wiggle
I am hoping he will DM, as soon as hes been stable for a while, im going to start very slowly introducing new foods and see how he goes. Fingers crossed eh?

chick wiggle
Thanks Sha hun, but really, not so much 'poor George' now. The treats i ordered have come (very quick!) and hes already devoured a sweet potato rawhide chew (which lasted him a good 20 minutes) and some of the apple and cinnomon drops and absolutely loves them I think he actually has a lot more treats now then he did before! Ive also got a rabbit from the butchers, so i will boil that and portion it up for him too Its all beginning to come together
