Anyone oooop north see these last night?

I am also VERY I really want to see them. I keep looking out of our bedroom window, in extreme vain hope I think we are a tad too south for them though. That said, my dad saw them once near to here when he was a boy. But it was out in the countryside and was pitch back.

I would LOVE to see the northern lights. No idea you could see them in the UK!!

Just been out for a peek but it's slightly cloudy so I don't think we'd see anything. Probably a bit too light polluted here anyway .

I missed the lights didn't even get a an alert from Aurora watch about it happening

 

OH said that a work mate saw them last night and he lives not far away from us and DS showed me photos of the lights on a friends facebook page. I have been wandering about in the pitch black garden in my PJ's tonight looking up at the night sky, there is a faint patch of greenish colour to the night sky to the North but I am not sure it is the lights.

on BBC news today there were pictures of the lights from Saltburn pier which is only a few miles from here

 

i've not seen any tho will keep looking

I've made a vow with my daughter that we'll see them together sometime; people have seen them from here, St Ives, Cornwall before i.e. my next door neighbour

We saw them in Lapland just once (despite several visits) it was just the most amazing sight

 

I didnt know they were going to be visible in the UK, I drove home from Scotland last night and if I'd known I would have stopped a few times to try and spot them

 

I hope at least one lucky Omleteer was lucky

OK..just seen this thread...I have been outside tonight and came back in to 'grab' my glasses and then went back outside. I have seen 'feint' lines in the sky. Sounds strange, but it was not normal sky's tonight...and NO I hadn't been on the vino!!!

 

Anyone else seen anything unusual?

I would love to see the northern lights, but I think I'm too far south. Also due to light pollution, and it is very difficult to see anything from our house (due to trees and surrounding houses). I can barely see the stars as it is

I've seen them once - in Devon of all places, about twenty years ago, but we were in a village with very little light pollution. They were best seen above the pub

 

Nothing to be seen from Leeds, there has been so much cloud and mizzle that nothing much has been visible for the last few days.

Er... are you definitely sure it was the Northern Lights that you saw??

 

Nothing to see here either, it's been very cloudy here and I suspect we are too far south anyway (although not as far south as Devon of course!).

Apparently they should be visible across the whole British Isles, but of course way too much cloud in South Wales

It was supposed to be really visible Tuesday night...so we had mist/fog oh well looks like a plane will be needed as it is on my list of things to do before I die
