Well - I did it! Deposit put on puppy!

I only carried Ruby once when she was a puppy and her little legs got tired - don't agree with it either.

Louisewomble, PM me if you're still having problems and you can email them to me and I'll post them for you.

Can we do that please - I can't get it to work!

Felt guilty this morning - after saying to my son that he slept through the night - only to have OH say later "oh no he didn't - I sat up with him for an hour - you didn't hear him" ........methinks he just wanted a quiet cuddle all to himself!

Reading this with interest - we are going to look at a puppy this weekend & I think we have already fallen for him. A red 8 week old Cockapoo.

Is it ok just to wrap them in a blanket & have them on your lap in the car ? It will be an hour journey for us & I don't want to invest in a pet carrier that he'll grow out of in weeks.

Not a good idea - he may be unsettled in the car and some can get car-sick (or worse).

Either borrow a pet carrier - or do as I do - use a car harness. I put him in this, sit him in his bed with a blanket on the back seat and my son sits with him. I haven't had to do a car journey on my own yet!

 They all come round in the end...................never in public though!

Tanner has taken a shine to his slippers - they are suede and obviously just the right thing to rest your head on!

Tanner has had his second jab and can go walkies next week. We took him out today to socialise him a bit, I took him into work and he met a few people and gave them the odd lick of approval! HArry was so proud carrying him around and introducing his new friend to everyone!

He is very good in the car and I have now found a harness small enough for him, so he is getting used to the lead. He sniffs his way around the garden - ignoring the girls - and has discovered leaves! They are great for pouncing on and carrying around!

He has his own little coat - the smallest I could find and looks quite dapper now!

He had another bath this afternoon - he's very good and is beginning to smell a lot less doggy! He has just had a mad 5 minutes charging around the living room chasing about and having a good time - he's back in his bed having 40 winks now! It's a dog's life!

Why oh why did I wait 30 years to have a puppy of my own? Everyone who meets him falls in love with him! My daughter is threatening to kidnap him! She want's to borrow him one day when I have to work - she asked me today why we never got a puppy whilst she was at home !!!

It's going to be fun this summer taking him for walks - I walk with a friend and was always saying to her "ooh look at that doggy - I'd love one like that! " - now she's as excited as me at having a doggy of "our" own to take walkies!!!
