Cheeky Chooky
...but Emmy decided to eat the pellets which were in a bowl on top of the broody prison Once she'd had enough, she perched on the edge of the bowl and had a nap!

Purplemaniacs
Ah how sweet. I didn't think silkies were one of my favourites but Tumble the 7 and a half week old silkie chick has converted me she is so sweet, I just hope she is a she Chrissie

chestnutmare
I'm really pleased I hatched Silkies, lots say they are so sweet, and I can see why!
Chortle Chook
Now that is one daft chicken. OH always says that my chickens look like they are 'on the potty' when they are broody, but this chicken really is 'on the potty'
Space Chick
Having 6 Silkies I definitely see their charm My nephew is only 19 months and he already giggles at the Silkies more than the other hens They are the greatest
Cheeky Chooky
Thanks for the lovely comments I wouldn't describe my 3 Silkies as sweet though...they really are totally bonkers!
Purplemaniacs
As I said earlier silkies have joined my favourites list. Clearly they are slightly bonkers but very sweet. I just wondered, are they friendly chooks. I want a friendly bantam bunch with any eggs as a bonus Chrissie
Cheeky Chooky
My Silkies a bit aloof...my Orpington bantams are just wonderful, always around my feet when I go into the WIR, as are the Australorps but No. 1 for interacting with me and my OH are the little Belgian girls (Barbu D'Anvers and Barbu de Watermael)
Sammiboo
My 3 silkies are nuts. White (penelope) ginger (hermione) have decided they are broody and sharing the nest box. Black one (daphne) has decided she wants to be a big chicken and has started to hang aaround the cube and when the big girls go to bed she sits on the ladder - gradually a few nights at a time gioing up another rung.... Myrtle (exbatt) keeps changing her mind where she sleeps and has started sleeping with the silkies. crazy girls

They also talk a lot The Frizzles too are cuddly girls.
MedusA
I love the first pic where she's head down in the bowl! My Silkies are both 4 now and Muggle is especially slow and dim (but my favourite nevertheless). I hadn't seen her move at any pace for ages - she usually waddles slowly everywhere. But the other day, when she was in the nest box, I threw some mealworms in for the girls and she shot out of the cube and down the ramp so fast I was amazed. She has no excuses now!
