Badly behaved chicken at a BBQ

Recommended Posts

I decided to have a BBQ today as an early celebration for the jubilee, making the best of the wet weekend forecast. My hen rosemary was an embarrassment! She was free ranging at the time. She stole food from people's hands, jumped on guests lap, and on the table twice. She ran off with half a sausage (which we retrieved). In the end we had to put her back in the eglu. She then shouted loudly for the rest of the evening!  :?

Generally they were amused and we were all a bit surprised by how cheeky she was. After she stole the sausage we thought she had better go to bed. She has eyed up my lap before when I'm eating outside but she hasn't jumped up before. Although she did stick her beak in my coffee earlier & left me some floating bits!! :vom:

Still, it added an unexpected element of entertainment to the evening....and then there was the bonfire in the rain!!!

Have to admit, I've had a lovely day! (hope you all have too). Got the best of the sunshine and BBQ, chicken amusement, & in true British style persevered to make fire and have fun...despite torrential rain!!!

But tomorrow is weeding day :( never mind!
