craftyhunnypie
My piggies are so adorable. They have become huge friends to me. They love their mummy! Of all the toys they have, they prefer to find & carry round twigs / small tree branches. It's very funny to watch them. What is funnier , is when I fluff up their hay & straw in their bed, I find about 4 twigs / branches. They are as mard as muck. I feed them half their daily ration of pig nuts in the morning & the other half about 2.30ish in the afternoon. They love feeding time when I appear with the bucket & go in their paddock. I'm greeted with grunts & nudges until I pour the bucket into their rubber feed skip. Then all I see is Tilly's trotters in the feed skip & two bottoms with wagging tails. after feeding they usually zonk out for a bit. If they hear me mooching about though they grunt & squeal until I pet their noses! So mard! Flo is like the baby of the two - although they are the same age. I love them both dearly, I really do. They enjoyed a swede yesterday. Then today they had a few plums - which they totally loved. It was funny after though, as they looked like they had got lipstick on from the juice! They also love tomatoes. Tilly has a bit of a sunburnt ear - so I've got some high factor sun cream & will get some aloe vera gel for them as they will both like that on some of their delicate & dry skin areas. They are very well behaved & go off in their ark themselves sometime after about 8pm. They peep & sometimes wake up, as I'm shutting the chickens in. One of our marans loves the pigs & is often in their ark having a nosey at them. I didn't realise how much I would love having pigs. But I really do! I wish we could have a piggy icon for our signatures!!! My mum really loved the pigs - she kept going for a look at them & tonight when she phoned I went out & they grunted down the phone at her, so that my dad could hear the noise they can make! Ha ha. All I need now is some pigginalia! ( another excuse to shop)! Emma.x
Gertie
Hi Craftyhunnypie I couldn't stop laughing at the idea of pigs with lipstick and the fact that you put the pigs on the phone to talk to your folks That's always the way with pets/kids and toys...they end up playing with sticks and boxes!! I bet they are so cuuuuute! I love pig noises. You'll have to post a video next so we can hear them as well as see them. Glad your mum liked them too. My mum just looked after my chooks and cats when I went on my hols, but she would defo not be up for pig scratching! I saw this hilarious bit of pigginalia when I was looking for a new toaster http://www.thisnext.com/item/F2C0E551/PIG-TOASTER-by-Brandani-and
craftyhunnypie
Now that I like! But i have a perfectly good toaster & can't find an excuse to have 2 in the house! Drat! Will keep looking for other pigginalia. The girls have had suncream on their ears today! Call me soft! Emma.x

AndreaT
They are so cute! You have got me looking to see if I could fit a couple of micros in when I move to my new place
craftyhunnypie
Be warned there isn't really a thing a micros. They can grow big! I wouldn't buy a micro as they have been so ' messed' with genetically & inter bred that complications can occur. It's like dog breeders who try & create their so called perfect breed. Pigs are just great! Remember you'll need a CPH number, then register with Animal Health as a producer / keeper to get your herd number. They will ask you what vet you will be using. The person you buy them from will do the eAML2 movement license ( now online), but you should also get yourself registered on this for any future movements of your pigs. The person you buy them from will want your CPH number, address etc & also the registration of your trailer you will collect your pigs in. It all sounds complicated, but it isn't really. You should ask the breeder about any medications they have received & when they were last wormed. Any future medications / wormer given will need to be recorded in a medicine record book. You will have to log the serial numbers of the medicines given. I find my pigs a doddle. A bit cheeky as they have built confidence now & think the hose pipe is a good game & they like moving their feeder around their paddock to where they want it. Oh & the amount of sticks I find in their bed is amusing! If you have done your research & all the legalities - then go for it!!! I love them as much, if not more than the chickens! AJuff
Lovely piggies! If only I didn't live in town . . . a few pigs would be great. OH used to keep them, they liked their backs scratched with twigs so perhaps they are trying to tell you something!
craftyhunnypie
They love their backs scratched with anything - including twigs! Sometimes I look in their arc & it looks so cozy & clean, that I think I could sleep in their with them. If it thunders I may have to - as I was told they don't like thunder. Guess what the forecast is tomorrow? Emma.x

craftyhunnypie
Ooo I like the middle icon!!! I have a beautiful muddy snout mark on my jeans today. Beautiful it is. A perfect oval with 2 nostril holes in the middle. I'm thinking of starting a new trend.. piggy print fashions! My piggies had their brekkie in their other little ark - one without a back / front. It's more of a shelter, but keeps the food dry & the rain or sun off them. They are quite happy. They have lots of straw in their sleeping ark & are truly pampered, so don't worry about them in this awful rain. Emma.x
