Guest
I've been on a work night out tonight, and have had a lovely time over a couple of glasses of wine. However, just as we were getting ready to leave, I was cornered by one of the young guys that works a couple of evenings a week with me. He took my hand, leaned in close and said, 'you know, it's a shame you're 29 - if only you were 10 years younger we could really have a good thing going' Luckily my taxi apeared almost straight after, so I didn't have to reply, but it got me thinking on the way home - As I'm actually 34, should I take it as a complement that this 19 year old thinks I'm only 29, and that he fancies me, or should I be deeply insulted that he thinks that 29 is past it???! Sheilaz
Flattering then. But dangerous ground....steer clear! I'm off now, goodnight (sweet dreams! )

Karen & co.
Take it as a compliment!! Karen x
Trish
I'd take it as a compliment but I think he loves himself far to much to ever have room for someone else in a grown up relationship
Mel (& Paul)
I'm with Trish. He may be good looking but he probably loves himself - cheeky chap suggesting a 19 year old would have anything better than you
Chunkin
Only a foolish young arrogant boy would think it is clever to suggest to a woman she should be 10 years younger! Definitely take it as a compliment that he tried though
Spuddy
Doesn't sound like a compliment to me. More like a naive attempt at one. It's clear that the difference in age is the first thing on his mind and would always be a problem for him.
Popcorn
I'd smile about it
Spuddy
Then again maybe he was just a bit drunk and the words came out wrong. I still don't think he would have said anything about age if it wasn't a problem in some way for him. Gina's right though, have a smile and wait and see what happens. Guest
It's still making me smile this morning! I must point out that as a married woman (happily for nearly 10 years), I would certainly never encourage such behaviour, but I can't help but grin about it this morning! Apparantly after I left he tried to get my number from one of my friends, so I'm going to assume that it was a 19 year olds attempt at a compliment! The fun will be on Tuesday when I have to take a training session with him assisting! We'll see what he's saying about things then!
Guest
When I was young I didn' t know how to take a compliment. Now that I am an oldish granny, I certainly know how to accept one, its finding them is the trouble - they get a bit thin on the ground. Nowadays it is my food that gets them! Take everything as a compliment, have a good chuckle even it if is inside and hidden, and store them up for later. Hmmmm 34, just a babe
Lesley
Dan - have you got a thing about Grannies? It's only the other day you were showering me with compliments (after you'd upset me of course!) I'm beginning to worry about you! Kooringa - if you have a nurses outfit as well, I should start running
Guest
No nurses outfit I am afraid, but I do have a nice little French waitress number - oh la la Glad you liked the windswept look today - very boho chic I am told. What about my perfume you never mentioned that - Smokey Pat it is called (see links page to my blog). Makes a nice change from Piggy Pong or Horsey Poo. But in the afternoons it is back to Chanel No.5 so with a sack over my head I could be Marilynn Monroe - or maybe with it off I might look like she does now

Crooked Chicken
............ Aaahh - Chanel No.5. I love that perfume. It's been 'my' perfume since I was 16 and I'm not changing now. (I intoxicated a young guy last Christmas with my perfume - he said I smelt of honey - I guees that was compliment?!)
Crooked Chicken
Bet he does know she's married - probably adds to his excitement!! Also, being married, it's quite nice to know that you're still fanciable ?? if you know what I mean.
Guest
Does this young wipper-snapper know you are married? Hmmmmm, not sure actually. He knows i have kids, as I have met him in town while I had them in tow, and frequently talk about them. However, I don't wear my rings to work, and although I would assume that he realises I am married, I was reminded today that I'm a bit old fashioned that way, and that not all mothers have husbands. Still making me smile, though!

I dunno - you women - I know what signs to look out for in my wife now!
Guest
Aaaaaaaaah, Graham! Can't a girl have a smile after finding out she is irresistable to younger men???! I'm NOT going to do anything but discourage any more advances! Chookiehubbie thinks it's hilarious, by the way. Says he's going to come into work and offer him a fiver to take me off his hands! Guest
Irresistable? Hmmmm.... post a piccy then and let's see what the fuss is about! Actually, what would be *really* cool is if you could post a piccy of *him* too!
