How long to leave before opening dispute on ebay?

Recommended Posts

I have an item that finished on Monday evening, it was won by a nil feedback person who only joined this year with a very rude username which he changed on 27th November. I have invoiced him and sent a message last night saying the I wanted payment within 24 hours. Is it fair to open a dispute tomorrow, he looks like a time waster?

You could send another reminder at at the end of the 24 hours and say that you require payment within the next 24 hours or you will have no option but to assume he no longer requires the item and open a dispute?

You can block certain buyers not only those from abroad but ones who have low feedback or unpaid items against them. I have set this up on my account, just in case!

Good luck¬

Ebay has a minimum time period before it will let you open a dispute, so I would be guided by that.

I would send him a reminder, it may be an versight. I bought something this week and thought I had paid (I remember going through the Paypal checkout process and kicking myself because I had paid from my current account instead of credit card.

However, I must have missed the final confirmation screen... a couple of days later. I had a polite email from the buyer saying that in order for her to get it posted before they moved house I would need to pay within the next 24 hours.

I was embarrassed, she was very understanding though.

I usually give them about 5 days, send a reminder then if they don't pay by the next day I open a dispute.

That dispute email they get from ebay generally makes them pay up PDQ!

However,if they don't pay then the wheels are set in motion for you to be able to relist.

He does sound like he is trouble :?
