Willow
Ok I'm cheating so far al I've done to use leftovers is grate cheese and fill Waitrose croissants with cheese and ham. And I made some salads to have with cold meat yesterday. I love cold turkey and ham Planning to make either turkey risotto or a turkey and ham pie for dinner tonight. How else are people using up their leftovers ?
Olly
I'm really not a fan of cold turkey - just as well, because any plans I might have had were scuppered by the cat, who helped herself. She now resembles a small balloon with paws attached! I have lots of gammon left but I think I'll just freeze that for future use. I might make some Stilton soup with the turkey stock and left-over cheese.
Purplemaniacs
I have made stock with the turkey and at the moment I have dough rising to make some bread to have with some soup, vegetable or stilton not decided or perhaps both Chrissie
majorbloodnock
Well, I've posted it a few times before, but Savoyarde Gratin works just as well with turkey as with chicken. Best eaten before Jan 1st to avoid potential conflicts with New Year's resolutions; a weight-watchers' recipe it is not.
bluekarin
I have made stock from the turkey carcass, a few delicious sarnies, and WAS going to make a layered leftover pie, but hubby and DS made a curry, just for them, with most of the turkey so I will be making a Wagammas style ramen with the teeny bit of turkey and lots of veggies. Cinnamon
I made a Turkey Rogan last night, which was delicious, with the fantastic curry sauces available from Henley Farmers market And today I am going to use up another chunk of it making a pie filling, along with the ham, some slowly cooked leeks & some mushrooms,to go in the freezer for future use. The daughter also made a lovely ham risotto the other night. Anything left after tonight can go in the dog!
craftyhunnypie
Ha ha Cinnamon - we had Turkey Madras last night! Night before was cold turkey & slimming world chips! Lunch time we had a turkey & cranberry butty & tonight we are fed up....so we are having a bit of fish! Got lots of curry left over & have froze the rest of the turkey meat. We still haven't had our Xmas puds. OH has the traditional Xmas pud, I have a chocolate fondant pud. We may have them tonight - being as I somehow managed to lose 2lb over Xmas! How on earth did that happen? Not drinking has its benefits in more ways than one! Emma.x
Gertie
I still have so much leftover food. The lamb leg and veggies went to the badgers, the sprouts & carrots to the chickens, and the ham I'm using tonight in a dish with chicken, cream, tarragon & rice! We still have 3 puddings left. My partner did the Xmas food shop & he's a foodaholic!
Space Chick
We had a chicken on Boxing Day, so I made stock with the bones and made a soup. Also meat for curry and a risotto. No left overs from the fish feast on Christmas day Only today I've got around to boiling the ham it's only a tiny joint though, so enough for tea tonight and for a ham soup ( using the boiling stock, some veg and some lentils)
Willow
We had parents of our boys friends over tonight so I made a large turkey and ham pie. I don't think we have much turkey left now I also remembered that before Christmas I'd made the cookies (20) for a cookie Christmas tree so I assembled that and we ate it for pudding tonight. 4 teen boys = using up lots of leftovers Lots of ham left though I make leek and ham cheesy pasta for the freezer for OH elderly aunt but I could do with something else to make with the ham that can go in the freezer. Purplemaniacs
These have become a tradtion in our house. DS loves them but he has asked for ham on New Years Day so I have not cooked our ham yet. http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/main-ingredient/pork/ham-hash-cakes-with-parsley-sauce.html Chrissie
chuckmum6
Any ideas what I can do with a load of Stilton? I've made soup, but could do with some inspiration!
Space Chick
Any ideas what I can do with a load of Stilton? I've made soup, but could do with some inspiration! How about a Stilton sauce to serve with steaks?
Lesley
Freeze the Stilton in small bags to use at a future date in soups and sauces - I like to make it last! It will need at least double wrapping though, or everything else in the freezer will smell of Stilton!
Snowy
Turkey Korma the other night. Did a joint of beef in the slow cooker on Friday so there was a lot of that left as well, plus some of the veggies it was cooked with. So tonight I've mixed the remnants of the beef and veggies with the remnants of the turkey, added some red wine and black pepper and covered it with a flaky pastry lid. It's just out of the oven and smelling delicious!

The daughters boyfriend has just given us a bottle of Port too,so I reckon we should be able to make huge inroads into it

Space Chick
I need to find a few things to make using ham... I always make Ham and Mushroom pasta. Dead easy, chop some mushrooms and an onion, k"Ooops, word censored!" of butter in a saucepan, cook the veg, add chopped ham in chunks, some italian seasoning, a bit of salt and pepper to taste and some cream.... serve with pasta (I always make fresh pasta ribbons)... dead easy but very tasty. Willow
I didn't have enough turkey for a curry But made a rather nice turkey and stuffing pie instead. I'll definitely do that ham and mushroom pasta sauce thanks
