craftyhunnypie
Words can not described how I am feeling today. I went to give the piggies their breakfast this morning & found Flo dead on her side in the pig ark. She came ' in heat' on Friday & now she is gone. Devastated is too little a word. Purplemaniacs
Oh no, Emma. I can not believe it reading your post so I do not know how you feel. What an awful shock, I read your post about her coming into heat and smiled to myself at at your description of her. I am so sorry, the only comfort that I can give is that she had a wonderful life, all be it too short, with you. Lesley
Oh Emma! I'm so sorry It is an awful thing to happen and so difficult when you have just a few animals which are more like pets than farm animals. ((((( Big Hugs)))))

craftyhunnypie
Thank you for your words of comfort. I can't stop crying! Even if we did farming on a huge scale, all our animals would still be loved as pets, even the ones going the butchers! We always cry at every animals feather or fur that we lose. Flo has left a huge hole in my heart & a grey cloud over the end of this year. R.I.P my sweetiepie Flo. Emma.x

craftyhunnypie
Thank you to everyone, your hugs & thoughts have helped us to get through today (just). We totally feel like.... (sorry not allowed to type that). Flo was almost human in the way she reacted & commuicated with us. She was so gentle. Poor hubby got upset watching Tilly show baby Frankie how to make the bed with fresh new straw today. That was always Flo's job - Flo was the housekeeper & Tilly the forager. Baby Frankie is mucking in too, bless him. Such a short little life, but I am thankful that I gave her a lovely free range life on green grass & I saved her from the butcher. I will miss our belly rub & brush time. Emma.x

lillybettybabs
Aww... so sorry. 804 (breeding sow) used to follow me around the the farm and help me with my feeding rounds every morning. She would wait for me by the barn door a waddle out grunting and snuffling. We grew so close but i never named her has that seems to be the biggest attachment. She disappeared one day after the big cattle truck came.
