How sad . Heart attack aged 60.

 

He was a big part of my TV watching childhood .

He was lovely - loved him and Kim Wilde in "rocking around the Christmas tree". hIm and GRJ were brillaint together. Sad week with the Bernie Nolan dying too. Makes you think when you get to that age doesnt it? RIP Mel

Hard to take in. Loved him and GRJ in Not the Nine O'Clock News. What a presence, no doubt will be hugely missed. No age at all. RIP.

It might be an age thing but OH and I will see someone on TV and say "are they still alive?" only to find they are or died donkeys yrs back. It brings your own mortality back to you.

A sad loss; I am no fan of comedians, but his talent went beyond that.

Have just read a newspaper report (not always to be trusted, I know) that said Mel had some problems that may have contributed to his very early demise...so sad and maybe a lesson that we should all try and take responsibility for ourselves but still so tragic to end such a rich life so early. Thanks for all the laughs...RIP.
