I found a red egg skelter in my local cancer research for a ..........£1.00 they didn't know what it was which is why I assume it was such a bargain DD begged it off me for her brand new kitchen as her intended style is retro

I absolutely love charity shops......you just never know what you will find! I have had some amazing buys but also make sure that I donate as much as poss too, just to try and even things up!!!

 

Its got to the stage whereby my boys will happily pile in too (after several years of eye raising heavenward when I dragged them into yet another charity shop they have come to realise the wonders that can be found, on occasions, therein! )

 

It has to be the ultimate in recycling as everyone benefits!

Another charity shop lover here too! Latest find is a pair of linen and silk mix Fendi (yes, Fendi) trousers for a pound I have three bags of stuff to donate back for the good karma!

 

I would be well chuffed with an egg skelter for a quid though, great find

I got a beautiful buttermilk colour (sort of golden cream) silk and cashmere pashmina wrap for 90p the other week

Best bargain we got was sacks of dog food!

 

We were taking an unwanted meerkat toy and jigsaw to our local animal shelter shop and saw a big sack of our usual dog food at £1. As it usually costs £18, we immediately offered to give it a home .

 

The lady in the shop recognised my dad as a frequent contributor and told us they had 4 more sacks at £1 each in the back if we wanted it. Apparently someone had ordered a pallet load for their dogs, who had refused to touch it, and they'd given it the shelter rather than dump it. The shelter hadn't got space for it all, so 5 sacks had come to the shop and she was tired of falling over them.

 

We gave them £20 for the lot, as that was all the cash I had on me, as well as the jigsaw and the meerkat (I think the meerkat swung it ), and she was really thrilled

 

Getting 5 sacks of dog food plus dad in my tiny IQ took some doing, but well worth it (and we've promised they will be the first stop if we ever have any vacancies for pets - they sometimes get chickens as well as cats and dogs ...)

Charity shops here tend to charge much higher prices , a tshirt would be £3-£6.

 

I did once find a brown ceramic hen egg holder for £5 which is the closest I have ever got to a bargain

I found Bunty in a charity shop the other day, just 50p!

 

 

She looks great with Ginger, who I have had for a few years now. Funnily enough, she also cost just 50p!

I got a really trendy fitted tweed jacket for a fiver and some designer leather boots for 6 quid at my local charity shop. Both bargains in my opinion as they were really good quality.

I went to a vintage fayre on Saturday where I managed to pick up a set of Woods ware tea cups and a jug for a total of £10. Finally a bargain plus I have been hunting for Woods ware for ages.

No such thing as a bargain in my area, I went in to a local charity shop and found a pair of next sandals, they were priced at £19.00.... Yes nineteen.... I was incredulous, I didn't think they were that sort of price brand new.....I chucked a strop worthy of Joan Collins and left.....

 

Because we are so close to London and apparently in an "affluent" area people literally pillage the charity stores and I am sure half the items end up in a well known auction site

I found some Timberland ladies ankle boots in a beautiful thick brown leather with an inch heel for a tenner. However, I couldn't make up my mind if they were comfy or not so decided against them. I soooooo wanted them to be a good fit but they just felt that little bit too tight for me to part with the money......gutted!

 

I have made this mistake before ie; trying something on (clothes or shoes) and not being entirely convinced but buying anyway as its such a bargain only to have the item hanging around unworn because.........I was right in the first place!!! OH says he has no sympathy; I'm always telling him that I'm right so why won't I trust myself

I managed to pick up a lovely Dash fleece today from a Sally army shop in Bromsgrove, they have a cheap rail, it was £1.50 It has leaves and a border print on a red background. Now I need a long zip to refashion it into a jacket

I got a really lovely pair of Rockport ladies ankle boots; buttersoft light brown suede for £4 at a Lurcher Link fundraiser last October. They are so comfortable and usually cost a fortune.

 

Stratford upon Avon has very designery charity shops, with prices to match Banbury can be good though.
