chickencam
We only have an RS exam to collect, YD is going into year 11 in September. She lacks self confidence and motivation at the moment, she worked for the first paper, but I think did less for the second. We shall see how she gets on. I like the way that her school does just the RS in year 10 because I think that it gives them a taste of what is involved and if they do well it boosts their confidence and if they don't it shows them that they have to apply themselves more effectively. Fingers crossed for everyone. X

dancing cloud
Twin nephews due results today and am hoping they do well. Both have quite severe dyslexia and exams are not their strong point, so we're not exactly expecting A*'s across the board! All the best to everyone getting results today. bluekarin
DS just got his first two GCSEs which they do a year early - A* in Maths and and A in statistics Very proud parents here Well done to all the others, what fantastic marks they have got
chickencam
Well done all Katie got a B in her RS which is what I expected her to get, she took one paper in May which I know she worked hard for then another a month later when she was doing a lot of other internal exams and projects, so she didn't revise as much for that one. She got an A in the first element and a B in the second. The A was only a couple of mark off an A* but the. B was only a couple of marks off a C so it dragged her overall mark down. She is disappointed but, I said it shows what she is capable off with the right work and it is a good starting point for next year.

dancing cloud
Well done everyone! Both nephews did really well, and are off to do their choice of A levels at their choice of college . Niece, who did not do as well as she wished in her AS levels, has been reassessing her options and has decided there are some great alternatives. She is now again and making plans for her gap year
The Dogmother
Rosie decided to stay at the same school, and has been accepted for Chemistry, Biology, Further Maths and English Lit. Sighs of relief all round... especially as she also has a weekend job at B&Q, having left it too late to apply for a summer job, despite reminders
Cooks
K is doing Business Studies, Travel and tourism and Film Studies, and has chosen to add a study support lesson rather than add another a level to give these three subjects as much time as possible. This method worked very well for his gcse's so if it ain't broke don't fix it and all that. He's over the moon so I am happy.
