Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Clem is 15 weeks old and hasn't crowed but am beginning to wonder if he/she is a cockerel. Any ideas?

 

I really hope its a girl as she is beautiful and very friendly. Eyes look a bit odd in the photos but they are fine.

personally if it were mine I'd hope it was a girl but I'd expect it to be a boy,

I really hope you are right. Leeweedon she is a gold laced bantam orp, I have 15 week old silver laced and chocolate laced as well, they are slightly smaller than her but catching up.

Hmmmmm The saddle feathers look as if they are beginning to sweep over, and the hackle feathers look a bit pointed. Watch this space. A bigger, sideways on picture with more detail would be useful.

Ive had orpingtons that haven't crowed for 6/7 months before they don't all crow early leanne

Ooh, looks to have too much face furniture for a girl of 15 weeks, but colouring is more female? Sweepy feathers indicate boy too.

Hope photobucket plays the game and doesn't outsize these pics. My girl isn't a bantam but in these photos she's at least 4 or 5 months old. Not much headgear and although she has very pointed neck feathers the others are well rounded. And a lot of bottie fluff! I think perhaps you have a boy too. A gorgeous one even so!

Your girl is lovely and obviously enjoying her dust bath, as you say not much head gear.

She does love her baths - when I set up the tub in the greenhouse for them as it was January, "Ooops, word censored!"ody touched it, and when the newbies were allowed to range with the other girls and she found it, she was in there for over 2 hours!!! Had to wonder if she'd ever had such a good life in her early months.
