PixieDust
I love the colour of your Brahma! Is that wire or netting? Do you not have any fox issues? Looks like a lovely large space for them to forage in. How big is it?
Rosalie
It's 2 metres High, 2 metres wide x 3 metres long, it's netting with a roof and full height door. The girls are shut in the coop at night which has weld wire. We don't have fox issues (yet) never seen one in 25 years but never say never. The bottom is going to be reinforced with wire. My dogs will soon alert me if we have an intruder hopefully. Coop is supposedly fox proof
mullethunter
Do you not have any fox issues? If I'm honest that was my first thought. Will they be out of the house in the run when no-one is home? On a separate note, sorry to be nosy but what's the light purple thing in the corner? Luvachicken
That does look very nice Sadly chickens seem to have their own perfume and a fox will smell them eventually, and unfortunately your netting will not be able to withstand a fox attack. Also, unless the netting is very tight, little heads and feet can get caught in them We used to have a little inner door with netting on and it did seem to make a nasty trap so we swapped it for wire. I know wire is expensive but you could pop some round the bottom half of your run for now. So sorry for being a doom merchant but it is sad to read on here of the fox attacks. Rosalie
I have had chickens here in the past and not had a problem. I am at home every day and my dogs are out most of the day in the garden, the netting is very tight and is going to be reinforced. I've had the girls a few months now just in the coop, I was going to get the Omlet netting to give them more room but went for this instead
