Luvachicken
Just about to do some new baskets ready for Winter It seems a shame to throw the plants away and I don't have space for composting so I was wondering if the chickens could have the geraniums. I know they like lobelia and weren't fussed on begonias.
Cat tails
Can they? Or should they? I think they certainly can!
Valkyrie
I think you can use geraniums in cooking - but preferably the lemon scented ones! I remember one sponge recipe with leaves at the base.
Mars
I have a feeling it is poisonous. rabbits don't eat it. if it is poisonous the hens wouldn't eat it. unless there is nothing else to eat.
cloud
Our don't seem to eat them. Neither the pelargonium style geraniums nor the true geraniums. They do peck at them but I think they're going for insects or morning dew. They've dug a few up though, so best put a guard round them until established. Newly disturbed soil is like a magnet to our hens
Luvachicken
Well the girls didn't get much of a chance to try the geraniums as the weather was getting yucky and I needed to get a move on. Perhaps it was good thing if they might be poisonous. They are very smelly.
