I was up early (6am) and having a lovely jog round on a beautiful autumn morning when I thought ...

"Why do we not party in the morning ??"

 

Especially children's parties - they are always up early - how great would it be to drop off your 4 year old to a party at 9am - they are not tired and grumpy, you can get loads done - then pick them up when they will be nice and tired to sit and watch a movie....

 

Even an adult party....drink in the morning and sleep all afternoon and be fine the next day

 

Am I the only one who prefers mornings to evenings ....

 

If I ever have a party its starting at 8am......

I'm a morning person too! Don't get how youths today can do partying... They don't leave the house till 10 pm! That when I'm ready for bed! Feel old at 27...

Ours today started at 10am, we arrived home after a day of celebrations at 5pm and were straight into our PJs

Another morning bird here too - I have lost my ability to stay up all night, and like nothing more than to be in my PJs by 8pm.

We are having DD her children and partner coming over for breakfast to celebrate her partners 30th birthday. Not done a full cooked breakfast for ages.

If you want to amaze and astound the children... Make pancakes! I do every time my nephew and niece stay and they watch mesmerised as I toss each pancake. And now my nephew is 4, he helps me to weigh out the batter ingredients

Haha - I left my own birthday 'do' last night (being hosted at someone else's house) at 1 am as my eyelids were drooping, judging by FaceBook the partying went on for some time after that. Now I'm wide awake and waiting for the friend who stayed over with me to get up! I like the idea of a breakfast party - Buck's Fizz and bacon butties!

I was always the one up silly early at a all night party...in fact I quite often loved the morning after than the night before...

Ooh I'm not sure about an 8am party?! I can't honestly say I'm a fan of mornings - getting up is a necessity rather than a joy. But at the same time I'm not much of an evening person either. However, if anyone fancies organising a lunch party - I'm there!

I'm with you there.

 

Although when I used to compete with the horses we'd often have to be up anywhere between 3-5am and so if we'd been up 6 hours already it seemed almost justified to crack open a bottle of something by 10am.

 

I have to admit that I have got a bit anti social recently though, it's hard enough to work up enough enthusiasm to go out in the evening so the though of sacrificing bed time in the morning does not appeal. I suppose it would mean though that I could get it out of the way and get home earlier

I know exactly why I don't party in the morning......I don't really wake up till at least 11.00am (typing this semi comatose - luckily I'm not on the school lift share this am!! My lark like friend usually does ams and I tend to do the pms!!

 

Have decided that I'm not an owl or lark.....just peak for about half an hour around mid day! Certainly, as the nights draw in and it gets colder I go to bed earlier with a good book (thank goodness for the library - I read very quickly!!)

Plenty of people party in the morning; they just don't necessarily start in the morning .

 

Many moons ago, my father helped organise a pro-am golf tournament, and persuaded several of his former rugby team-mates to take part. Prominent amongst them were a couple of guys who had an 8am tee-off time, so arrived a little early and asked in the club house bar if they could have a couple of double brandies each before starting their game. I don't know about you all, but the feeling I got when I heard that demonstrates very clearly to me why I wouldn't want to start a party before mid-morning at the very earliest.

 

As for kids' parties, I can see more justification, but speaking as a parent, I feel a distinct need for a bit of a lie-in, an unhurried cuppa and an hour or so of faff-time to prepare myself before being descended on by a frenzied scrum of youthful exuberance. Once again, mid-morning at the very earliest.
