Poorly chicken

I have a Cube and I have a Classic (the other one doesn't count because it has guinea pigs in it).

 

I need (no, really) another house.

Do I get another Classic or do I get a Go instead, so I have the option of turning it into a Go Up?

 

I really like the idea of an Up, but I'm worried that I won't like the Go as much as the Classic.

 

HELP!!!

I really like my Go up.

Started with the Classic which I really loved and then morehens struck and went to a Cube, but now down sized to the Go.

Took a few hours to get used to it as seemed quite flimsey compared to the others, but love it now, have it inside my WIR so save space in my garden, really easy to clean. nest box causes some problems when they all want to lay at the same time but good value I think.

I've read reviews of the Go saying that the plastic is more fragile and can crack - something my Classics have had plenty of encouragement to do, (small children), but never have.

 

Omlet assure me they are made of the same material and that the Go is just as robust as the Classic. Really?

Never had a Classic, but have had my Go for a year now and happy with it. Would like to go 'up' but have got a lo-rise WIR and they aren't compatible.

 

Only negative in my opinion is that the back door opening which is the only way into the house can be tricky sometimes.

I love my up!

Especially because they have shelter and shade below the house. And super easy to clean!

You may have decided CD but in my opinion the Go isn't as sturdy as my classic. I love the frame but if it were possible I would have classic on a frame. I think if I were ordering again I would get another classic and find a table to put it on.

Another really good thing with the Go, this time of year is, I have left the back off to keep them cooler and just put it back on at bed time.

They are in a secure WIR.

If I would leave the back of, I wouldn't have any grass, broccoli or anything left... So back stays on!

Our Go has a small crack on the edge of the door control hole where OH leant on it. I can see where they might be considered more fragile than the classic as the flat surfaces would be more prone to cracking than the curved ones assuming that the material is indeed the same. The convex shape would make it stronger to outside loading.

Nope! I love their houses but the Classic and Go aren't comparable IMO.

 

The Go has some great points, especially the Go Up, but I would choose the classic all day every day

In my tiny garden an Up is much more practical. Same runspace as the normal Go or Classic, but a lot less floor space to take up in my Garden.

I have 2 and I like the accessibility of the and it's easy to clean. The rear door can be a little difficult to open if the ground is uneven but I'm sure if it was on an frame it would be easier to open. My two ducks use it with the roosting bars removed. So it's easier to convert than the the conversion kits are expensive. I have to Perkins in a rabbit another in the WIR and the that the remaining 11 girls share. I like them all for different reasons however I do think the appear stronger than the IMO!

You've confirmed my suspicions about the Go not being as robust.

I still love the design of the Go Up though.

Material aside, I don't like the way that the Go clips together - there are easily accessible gaps between the panels for mites to hide in.
