Cat tails
Finally! Someone else made star baker! Go Nadiyah!
bluekarin
Didn't she do well! Poor Ugne though. I can't believe Paul didn't think peanut butter and grape jelly would go. Has he never heard of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Some really lovely looking icecream rolls I though.....some were a bit urm
Grandmashazzie
Sad to see Ugne leave, although it was the right decision. If only she had been a bit more meticulous like Ian. Her creations were very good, just didn't go as planned. Am really loving the show and can't believe how quickly there seems to be fewer people (= fewer programmes )
chickencam
I agree, week 5 done already I was glad to see that Alvin got good comments for his pineapple upside down cake, it was simple but obviously very well executed. He was so anxious that he had been too simple.
Charlottechicken
Don't know what I was doing last night but I missed the programme

bluekarin
Oh I agree! I loved how Mary B broke down a bit when talking about the winner Such wonderful cakes at the end, all of them for once. I need to find the recipes for the sticky toffee pidding cake and the carrot cake
Ain't Nobody Here
Really enjoyed the whole series (apart from OH saying every week "when are you going to make that?" - yeah, right ). Very pleased with the winner too - shed a wee tear myself . I will not be sorry to see the back of Mel and Sue though. We both find them extremely irritating and not the least bit funny. I suspect we're in the minority but I just can't see why people like them so much .
Alis girls
Yup well done Nadiyah - she is so modest and likeable and did anyone notice her little daughter is so like her - a real chatterbox - Nadiyah could have made her on her own Twenty yrs down the line if the programme is still going prob her daughter will be entering. I liked all three finalists but Nadiyah was the one I was rooting for.
chickencam
We were all in tears, my YD loves Mary and when she saw her welling up, that really set her off. I loved Nadiya's character, she was determined through out with a great sense of humour. Her family seem so supportive and her children are adorable. Timal is lovely too, those pictures of him as a child were so cute . I did like Ian too but just found him a bit smug and arrogant at times. Chucky Mama
I cried - but then so did Mary
Grandmashazzie
Well done Nadiya. My favourite too. I felt most sorry for Tamal. On now to The Apprentice....
soapdragon
Couldn't help but think that the final was a 'one horse race'.......Nadyia shone throughout and was then surprised when she won! Looking forward to 'An Extra Slice' tonight......but still wondering why Sarah Millican fronted it a few weeks back We watched it recorded and it had missed the first few minutes. Mind you, I thought she was better than Jo Brand.
soapdragon
Well done Nadiya. My favourite too. I felt most sorry for Tamal. On now to The Apprentice.... Sorry, am a bit confused.....is Tamal going to be on The Apprentice then? I have never watched it because I think Lord Sugar is a bit of a bully. Mrs Webmuppet
I found the recipe for the sticky toffee pudding cake.....guess what I will be doing tomorrow....I'm not doing the fancy sugar work though. The recipe for those who might be interested is on the BBC recipe site.
Grandmashazzie
Sadly no Soapdragon.Just me on to next lot of TV I enjoy. Lord Sugar doesn't suffer fools and like all these shows the format can be a bit boring. The contestants and the editing make it watchable and like Bake Off you get some likeable and some not so likeable characters.
soapdragon
Sorry Mind you, sounds like Lord Sugar and Paul Hollywood could be interchangable!
