Great British Bake off 2015!**May contain spoilers.

Looking forward to it but a tad disappointed that they seem to have, if the press can be believed, such a 'politically correct' bunch  !

Also it would seem that the young lass has baked on a fairly serious scale before...not sure if this is strictly in the spirit of the show as seem to recall a furore (sp?)about one contestant last year when it appeared that they had baked 'for money' (birthday cakes?) and how it was not really 'cricket'!

Still, worth watching for the delightful Mary and her expertise

She seems to get younger and more stylish with every series...I would say I don't know how she does it but I guess stylists are involved 8) Mind you, if I look like her at 80 I shall be delighted

Felt so, so sorry for the lady whose black forest gateau collapsed.......must be both upsetting and mortifying. You could almost hear the collective gasp of horror across the country. Still, she got through!

Ooh, I love Dorret, Marie and Sandy in particular. I was praying for Dorret after the mousse incident! I do think the young lad, Tamal, is going to be there to the end though, he's very good.

I'm sure my opinions will change as the series goes on. It was interesting to see that the young lady with the baking blog is not particularly shining at the moment, so I think maybe she won't be as much of a threat to the others as has been portrayed in the press.

Noooooo!

I'm in theathre tonight watching Romeo and Juliette! When is the re-run?

Just seen its repeated on Sunday at 4pm on BBC1 :) Hope you enjoyed your performance though, it looked really good from the photo :D

Oh thank you sooo much!

It was an absolutely awesome performance! It's a group of amateur players who do a different piece of shakespeare every year. It's played in an open air theathre in the woods.

And they are able to make the dramatic story of Romeo and Juliette light, sweet and funny!

Have put Sunday 4 pm in my calendar!

Loved it, in particular lovely Mary. Haven't heard about the young lady baker, will have to pay more attention to the press. The standard just increases year on year. I seem to remember the first show and I think the semi final was of last nights show stopper standard. I could have competed then, but now it's way above my ability!!ps does Mary do any baking classes or can anyone recommend any in the London/Surrey area. I'd love to brush up my skills... I always enjoy the BBC good food live theatre shows.

We saw it this afternoon, after an internet free day so we wouldn't see who was out.

Naturally it was the person who I said 'Oh, they will win this year'

I really like the young anaesthetist chap, & I think he will do rather well. Not at all keen on the lady who keeps saying she is random or the older lady who has a bit of a mad glint in her eye if you ask me

I like the body-building mum & the young girl too - great people this year. They seem a diverse bunch.

Personally I don't really care if some have more experience than others. Its just a TV show, & they pick people who will make good TV, as well as good cakes :P

Watched it last night as DD stays and we watch it together.

We said who we thought would win and DD said the man who went out too.

I said the anesthetist so we will have too see. Also felt very sorry for the lady whose cake collapsed.

At least Dorret put it up for judging! When Ian threw his whatever it was (baked alaska?) in the bin last year that was deemed unacceptable as they had nothing at all to judge :wall: . I think they said that Dorret's was tasty if a mess, poor woman!

I think that the nasty comments in the press about Flora being 'too posh' are really unfair! Too posh for what, for goodness sake!? OK she has an Aga but should be judged on her ability to bake rather than the means 8) Still I suppose that the media have to have something negative to say (or am I being uncharitable  )

Article in Mail today about how qualified most of the contestants are. Marie is trained patisserie chef and ran a hotel and her own cupcake business and suggests six of the others are semi pro too. It just takes the shine off the programme when I read this.I know they have stringent assessments beforehand but you do assume they just are good home bakers.

I'm sorry, and maybe I am reading the article wrong, but because you have an Instagram account and like to show off the baking creations you make, that makes you a pro? I think this shows more of a love for baking, rather than being a pro, as you are going to put in the best photos of what you've created. Just because this weeks star baker lived in Paris 30years ago, and went to the baking school there, doesn't mean she is a pro either. I imagine she was taught a few tricks of the trade, especially after watching how Julia Childs learnt in Paris to write her books, which incidentally were for housewives to be able to recreate the food there as it wasn't available in the US (I don't think she saw herself as a pro either, more as a food lover). Daily Mail make me quite cross in always trying to create something out of nothing :(

Sunday 4 pm turned out to be Sunday 5 pm (stupid time difference...)

But it was lovely again!

Although I think the collapsed cake was aweful (in taste and look), that Stu didn't keep to the brief at all. They needed to show chocolate and he gave them meringue!

I loved how Nadijah looked absolutely moritfied with judging. Pure terror!

The best looking cake for me was the one with the little coloured chocolate in the shape of cherries. So beautiful!
