Grandmashazzie
Another gone too soon. I hadn't realised she was ill. The dreaded c again. It seems if you get over 60 you have a very high chance of dying from cancer. I wonder what the statistics are. Is it my imagination, are more getting cancer, than say my mums generation. She and her friends mainly had strokes or heart disease.
Groovychook
Oh my word, what a shock! I didn't know she was ill either. Such a funny & talented lady, gone way too soon She's made me laugh so hard over the years... "Beat me on the bottom with the woman's weekly" was a classic line Loved Acorn Antiques too. So very sad to have lost her. R.I.P. Victoria
soapdragon
Far, far too young. She was hysterically funny and so clever; I still have her Xmas special recorded from 2 years ago and regularly watch it. So much talent.
Olly
Very sad to hear it - a genuinely funny lady, but 'Housewife, 49' will stay in my memory as one of the best things she ever did.
mullethunter
I haven't been attached to the news today and this is the first I've heard of it. That is shocking. In my head she's only in her 40s
Charlottechicken
This is such a shock, I really thought she was younger, but 62 is still too young R.I.P. Victoria Wood

Alis girls
As soon as I saw this my heart sunk. We have lost so many decent people in the celebrity world this yr , no hint of scandal. I too loved her songs esp "let's do it" and dinner ladies was brilliant. RIP Victoria. You will be missed.
bluekarin
Such a funny lady, who seemed genuinely warm and kind. 62 is no age. I used to watch her show in the 80's with my mum, amd her laughing so much at the Lets Do it! song I too loved Dinner Ladies, and her gentle way with the script. She will be missed, RIP Ms Woods. (I did read somewhere there is a 6% increase in deaths by cancer and flu this year )

Have lost a load of good celebs this year already = not a good year - she and I are the same age - makes you glad to be healthy!. Maybe not to complain of the old aches and pains so much! chickencam
I remember watching her in the 80's when I was growing up. She was so witty, great observational comedy RIP.
Alis girls
Amazing having read Wiki she didn't like her looks, but she blossomed into an attractive middle-aged woman. Lost the wt and had a nice hairstyle and lovely eyes. I remember her on That's Life - whoever advised her on clothes etc needed glasses. So saddened by the loss of this lovely funny lady.
