Laura007
£3.20 for 2 soda water and lime!!!! I ask you. I nearlly fell over when the barman asked for a kings ransom for a couple of fizzy water. I am just getting up off the floor now. Is it just me that thinks that is daylight robbery?
Looney
It drives me mad - I drink lime and soda (prefer it to sweet pop) and it is amazing how much places charge sometimes

Guest
*puts on pub stocktakers hat* Soft drinks, such as cordials, and the post mix cola and lemonade, can indeed cost pennies to make, however, are the most 'over-poured' drink in pubs, therefor can produce the biggest deficits when it comes to stock-take time. How many times have you had a soda and lime that was just too limey? Or a bacardi drowned in coke? So they over-inflate the prices of such soft drinks to try and reduce the amount it actually costs to provide the customer with draft coke, or cordials. I've done stocks, where a healthy surplus (there should always be a surplus in a good managers stock, all down to beer heads, and other practices that I can't share with you - just always try to stick to bottled beer....) has been wiped out by a deficit in post-mixers and cordial. *takes pub stocktakers hat off* All that said, I'm a firm believer that soft drinks should be offered to 'nominated drivers' free of charge, or for minimal cost, to encourage people not to drink and drive. Laura007
as i was still moaning about this days afterthe event, i decided to moan to the people that run the place. RESULT, it seems that the place IS over charging and they are going to ask them to sort it out,and refund me the price of the drinks. much happier, power to the people and all that
Tina C
Well done Laura. Its good to get things resolved isn't it? It is hard to complain but most reputable businesses want to know if they are doing something wrong/unacceptable. Most will try and do something about your complaint, if it is specific. (Tip - when you complain its worth being able to tell the company what you expect them to do to put it right) There used to be a statistic along the lines of a dissatisfied customer will tell an average of 6 people, whereas a satisfied one won't tell anyone. I should think that needs updating in this age of forums and blogs. (And companies are very interested in finding out what is being said about them on the net)
