holes in the ground

Recommended Posts

I have just watched Kate Humble (drool drool) go down a load of pot holes, caving, squeezing through tiny cracks in the rock (quote; if you're any bigger than a 32D don't even think about coming through here) in the wet, dark, underwater etc. etc.

How absolutely brain dead is that then?

I like the water, and the rocks, but to go underground in order to see them - nightmare stuff.

In my opinion.

Surely "Ooops, word censored!"ody in their right minds does that sort of thing - or do they?

ps. I wish she had taken Bill Oddie with her - and left him down there.

No, I didn't really say that 'cos its not nice, but he really is annoying on Springwatch while she is just .... really really nice (as is Simon whatever his name is who goes up into the wild).

Thanks Richard - now I know where I know her from! I turned over in the middle of it, how amazing was that? I could NEVER do that for all the money in the world, did you see last weeks when the woman (no idea who that was) went rock climbing, that was pretty cool.

I think you've answered your question before you asked it Richard.....I have the fee;ing that ole Billies boobs may measure slightly more than a 32D........ :vom:

Oh no she shouldn't have taken Bill Oddy.

She should have taken Simon he is the most annoying of them all!

And to keep him company she should have taken PC Plum! (I only every watch Cbeebies Springwatch - its a huge favorite!)

The BBC do a childrens version of Springwatch where you get the usual presenters playing second fiddle to a load of kiddie characters, who are totally rubbish!

Oh and you also have the unbearable noise of some precocious kid singing a stupid spring song at the end.

Bill, Kate and the obnoxious Simon are the best bits for saving the sanity of us adults!

Oh this year there was a text service, every morning at 8.30am (just at the start of staff briefing) I got a text message from PC Plum, became a feature of the morning gathering for a couple of weeks!

*clears throat*

My name is Laura and I'm a caver....

Been going for best part of 15 years and have been down most of the decent caves in Britain. (also do mines).

Kate had a lot of guts to do what she did - the sump in Swildons is particularly horrible - it's very cold (2 degrees above freezing) and I wont do it without wearing a wetsuit and balaclava.

My first abseil and prussik was down a 220ft mineshaft which was exhausting so I felt for her going up Titan.

p.s. Handy caving tip No 1 - always take someone caving who's bigger than you are and make them go first - if they dont get stuck then nor are you

The idea of being cold, wet and underground in a tight space really doesn't appeal. Sorry Laura

It does annoy me the way Kate Humble says "that's aMAzing" a lot. I watched her on animal park (longleat safari park), but have not caught Springwatch. I'm not sure how I would cope with the children's version.

Brilliant - I hoped someone who went caving would chip into the thread.

You have my absolute admiration. I've watched the Kayaking one and reckoned I could do that, but there is no way I would do what you do - for sport!!

Good on you - I hope you have loads and loads of fun going down holes and seeing magnificent caverns and stuff.

Can you take Bill Oddie with you ---- and not bring him back?

Please???
