Luvachicken
I found an article in an old chicken magazine all about the benefits of Neem oil and powder. It's a natural product and is apparently very good at getting rid of / repelling lice and mites. I like the sound of a natural product that is both safe for me and my chickens - and I still get to eat any eggs. I have been using DE until just recently and know some of you have suggested I use Ivermectim but would rather use something natural. Has anyone tried using it and was it successful or is it just a con ?
Chickabee
I used it on my horse. It's very smelly, it didn't seem to work. I think Lewis has done a study on it so hopefully he'll be along soon

The Dogmother
There was a thread about it on here Aagggeess ago; I think the upshot was that it was whiffy and not very good
Lewis
Yeah I used Neem oil in my dissertation to kill Red Mite. It worked in lab tests to kill the mites but in a real coop situation, essential oils are volatile and so evaporate quickly. I would use it on the coop but not on your chickens.
