Does anyone have one and are they worth it. Our spare room bed is very very uncomfortable but we don't want to spend louds of money on a new mattress as we plan to decorate the room at some point and may then get rid of the bed or change the size of it.

 

Will a topper make enough difference to comfort. The beds not used all the time but the springs are quite pokey! I had to sleep in it last night and it wasn't pleasant.

They are the best invention ever I have a cheap but thick memory foam topper (about £50 and 5cm deep) over a very very very cheap mattress. Its transformed the bed from awful to blissful I also have a very expensive memory foam proper mattress and the topper is just as good. The only negative is that they can be hot in hot weather.

I have a cheap and thin mattress topper (under £50 and about 3cm thick) and it made a cheap old mattress very comfy. It does make the bed warmer but that's never been a problem for me.

Yep wonderful inventions - my ES asked if he could have one as beds in rented accomodation can be uncomfortable. Where he had experienced the use of one i didnt ask. I then got 3 on Amazon - one double, 2 singles. Lovely esp if like me you have a back problem. Paid similar price to other Omleteers.

We bought ours from Ikea and its great.....will also be far cheaper to replace topper than mattress...go for it!

Definitely - my mattress is good quality but was just too firm for me. I bought a memory foam mattress topper, not a very expensive one, and its absolutely blissful.

I got a memory foam one from Home Bargains for a cheap mattress when my mum was with us after she broke her leg in spring - she said it was very comfy

Bought one from John Lewis soooo very comfortable. Being cotton it did shrink a bit in the wash but not as much as the previous one that I had.

Thanks guys. All very positive then. I'm just confused by the wide array available and wonder if they have to be a certain thickness to be effective against pokey springs. Just saw one in dunelm for £160

If you have fitted sheets you'll have to go for the deeper ones. And if you have normal sheets you will probably have to up a size to have enough to tuck in.

Utterly fabulous! Like sleeping on/sinking into a big pillow

Wouldn't be without it (I'm on my second or third - have upgraded/put older ones on the spare bed)

It's less sticky warm than a memory foam one I tried

I think it would be enough on a pokey bed, but couldn't swear to it

We have a duvet type one on our very firm mattress and it does make it warmer but much more comfortable. Ours was from Debenhams in the sale around £50 too.
