Chickabee
There's a fox prowling my garden. It's not an urban fox I'm in the country. Luckily all the girls are locked away. Do you think it's hungry because of the weather ?
sjp
possibly it could also be one of last years cubs that's been forced out by it's mom or even a released one from a rescue group I get a fox through the garden most nights/early mornings also had one nearly 12 month ago at a little after 4pm the mob was still out luckily the fox wasn't were fast and I got down stairs and out the back door in time. We get them on the lottie in the day time quite a lot but they aren't that scared of people
Chickabee
This one is very scared of me and my dogs. Hopefully it will move away before my girls come out. Could be last years cub. It's quite furry but not that big
mullethunter
I've just read that in January make foxes are looking to expand their territory - maybe it's doing that?
Chickabee
Ok I'll make sure the dogs are out
The Dogmother
There's a fox prowling my garden. It's not an urban fox I'm in the country. Luckily all the girls are locked away. Do you think it's hungry because of the weather ? It is most likely a vixen with cubs to feed - they are very daring at this time of year
Chickabee
I didn't know they had cubs at this time of year. It's not a huge fox, are vixens smaller?. That would make sense.
The Dogmother
They used to cub later in the spring, around March, but in recent years I've seen cubs around much earlier.
sjp
I thought they cub in January but the cubs stay under ground for about 10 weeks
