clare*
My new good food mag came today On page 122 there is a gadget that was made just for those of us who like to weigh our eggs. Its called EggXact. It just looks like very small digital kitchen scales but its just for eggs. It not only weighs the egg it figures out if it has come out of the fridge or is at room temperature. You then tell it if you want your egg soft, medium or hard boiled. It then tells you to the second how long to cook it for. its 19.99 from a shop called Whisk

Richard and Jo
Have just seen the scales on Amazon.co.uk for £19.99 so might be worth adding it to the Amazon Christmas shopping list with free delivery!
Trish
Ooooohh I just got have one of those. I don't weigh the girls eggs because my scales just aren't near enough accurate, old fashioned balance type which are good for a guess but no mre. Mind you I'm OC enough about somethings not sure the family would appreciate weighing every egg

Guest
My husband gave me an EggXact yesterday. It is great and was such fun using it for breakfast this morning. I was pleased with how small and neat it is, so it doesn't take up too much room in my tiny kitchen.
chocchick
A must for an egg-obsessed omleteer I think Was just thinking I need scales that will weigh eggs, and worming powder etc.

Guest
Mine came in Blue, same as my eglu, which was lucky because husband didn't know about different colours! Can't wait to use it again!
chocchick
It's arrived! I only ordered on Wednesday from Amazon. My lab think I am incredibly sad and wanted to know why I would want to weigh eggs The fact it was a general set of scales didn't seem to wash. p.s. Beth's last 2 eggs were 57, and 56g

chocchick
It said predicted date of delivery 16-17 feb when I ordered, then I got an email telling me that as well. I ordered Wednesday lunchtime.
chocchick
I've discovered that the gadget doesn't recognise big eggs (e.g. Trinny's 80-100g eggs) on the egg cooking bit and says error Still....who can't boil an egg without a gadget, and it still weighs the eggs. Guest
That's interesting CC! Not a problem I've encountered - mine are usually around 60g. I suspect that the machine's idea of a soft egg is slightly harder than mine so I tend to start the timer before I pour the hot water into the saucepan. But it is just so easy to use - I love it! chocchick
OH says the soft boiled eggs are more solid than he'd like, but they're fine with me. I've also noticed you have to be ready to use the timer, or it turns itself off while you are boiling the water and you have to start again
