Popcorn
They're never on tour are they? All 8,000 of them?! Ohhh....I've just seen some of them are at the British Museum in London. I'd love to go Eglutine. Would be a treat to see them. Edited September 11, 2007 by Guest
Cinnamon
I thought it sounded good, but then I heard there were only 20 or so of the figures in the exhibit I have just this morning booked my King Tut exhibition tickets - it runs from November until next summer I think
Mel (& Paul)
I still think it will be fab - I saw all of them whilst in China - and they really are amazing - each one is different - really brilliant.
Cinnamon
I didn't realise that they were life sized until I saw a scale picture of them in the paper this week Well, when you see a long shot of all of them they look quite small
Popcorn
when I first heard about them, I thought the same Sarah. I think at the time Anthony Gormley had done his terracotta people, so I presumed they were that size. They must be awesome in real life to see all 8,000 of them. Guest
There was a preview on The One Show last night They looked amazing I quite fancy the King Tut exhibition as well Cinnamon
Guest
I saw the preview too, one of the things they made much of was that only the ones that need climate control are behind glass and you can stand really close to the ones which are not. Much closer than in China.
Mel (& Paul)
absolutely I really think if you can get there you should - its outstanding when you realise they were made so long ago
craftyhunnypie
I'd love to see the ones in China and also do the Great wall too - maybe in 2009, as 2008's holidays are already sorted! Hubby really fancies China too. They are extremely fascinating the terracotta army. I have red a book all about them, that my grandad brought me back from China & I loved it. SO yes Eglutine, I would definitely go & see them, whether it be the ones in China or the ones here in the exhibition! Emma.x
Laura007
i was really impressed when i saw that they were coming, but on the one show it said some were going to be replica's.

Cate in NZ
Oh, I didn't know that they were coming here. I really should go, what a treat to see them . I live just outside London so I should be able to get there without any difficulty, simply no excuse. Gina, if you want to come down for the exhibit and need a bed for the night, just PM me............ I'll provide B&B gladly for the opportunity to hug Stefan The O2 and King Tut is approx 10 miles from me, and even less from my workplace, I really shuld do that too
fourfinches
We saw them when they visited Edinburgh. Working back it must have been about 21 years ago - that makes me feel really ancient. It was a smaller exhibition than is coming to London but I remember being really impressed with them Morag
Basset
I'd love to see them. It must be amazing to go to China to see the whole Army. We've just booked our Tutankhamun tickets for November and are really looking forward to it. We went to the O2 to see Prince last week and it is a fantastic venue, it only took us 30 mins to get home afterwards which was a massive bonus. And there is a good choice of restaurants there for pre- or apres-entertainment meal!!! We were so impressed that we've also booked to see Madness there in December, and Disney on Ice for the kids. Mel (& Paul)
China was amazing - but their displays can be a bit odd - on one collection of painted pottery figures (not the terracotta army, but similar on a much smaller scale) they had obviously over painted - very garish! and their descriptions of what you were looking at was quite funny (well, kind of..............) you would get a huge poster in Chinese script and then the translation would read "a pot" or somethin similar I really would recommend you go
