SeramaSilly
I'm shocked! I came home from work to find one of my seramas looking quite poorly so I put her in a cat carrier and brought her in the house. I've just checked up on her and there were two eggs - one normal and one softie - I didn't even know that was possible!!!! :-
SeramaSilly
Gosh I thought this was amazing but no-one has answered my post so perhaps it's not unusual at all! 🤔
Patricia W
Sorry. Been busy. She would be looking miserable because of the softy. I’ve no experience of Seramas, but it sounds unusual to me. But I’ve learnt with chickens - anything is possible!
AndyRoo
It could be the softie was blocking the other egg - or vide versa. Has she been walking with her tail feather down? My bluebelle was egg bound once and I had to massage her vent to get her to lay the softie that was causing her problems.
SeramaSilly
No, I hadn't noticed her walking with her tail down. She's fine again today though and laid another egg!!

Patricia W
So, how long do they usually lay for? I would have thought it was around 5 to 7 years for a pure breed? My pure breed Polish laid regularly March to September until they were about 7 or 8, then sporadically till stopping about 9. Maybe they were exceptional. SeramaSilly
Time will tell as it's my first time with seramas but they're not known to be exceptional layers and three eggs in two days would be exceptional even for a hybrid I think! :-0 22 hours ago, Patricia W said: So, how long do they usually lay for? Valkyrie
Yay for happy girlie. Yes - I have had 2 eggs laid in the same day by a couple of my girls. Isn't half confusing! Don't know about seramas but Skye was laying at 9 years old. She did a couple of them in her 10th year but stopped. Oops forgot to say Skye was a pekin
