Chookchat
I am hoping to get two more girls to join my four ageing bantams..two Pekins and two Wyandottes.I would like larger birds, mainly for a few eggs. I have a large WIR with a large dust bath attached at one end and a generous coop. Do Plymouth Rocks sound good? I believe they are docile and will be happy in a run. I don't want my old girls upset by new additions apart from the usual settling in period.Any suggestions welcome
Lewis
Looks great I’ve had Plymouth rocks before and they were fairly quiet. I’d be tempted to get Marans or Sussex if you were after eggs and they come in a few colours
mullethunter
I have a Plymouth Rock bantam and despite not being the largest, she came in, had massive fights with everyone, ousted Penny my 5 year old Wyandotte bantam and went straight in as head chicken. So it just depends on the individual. She is an excellent layer though.

SeramaSilly
Your set up looks really pretty!! As Mullethunter said it depends on the individual hen but I had a marans bantam once - never again - she was soooooo aggressive!! I would recommend an australorp - they really are gentle lovely birds and lay really well.
