I am a very happy chicken mummy - Helga just laid her first egg (or the first I've found at least!) - I was out in the garden, Nina and Jenny were in the herb garden and Helga was nowhere to be seen so I made my cluck cluck sound to talk to her and she made the most amazing sound, which I've read others describing on here. Ludwig, my cat, nearly jumped a foot in the air with shock!

I pulled back some of the shrub where it came from and a head popped out - she looked so pleased with herself and let me take the egg from her.

I took her to the Eglu and put the egg in the nest area and put here in there with it but she didn't seem to get it and wandered off.

Her first egg was an impressive 56g - what a clever girl.

I'm having a boiled egg for my lunch, and can't wait!
