I had a funny situation a few years ago. I was approached to run personal development courses and the person involved with me took offence at the word foreign, used when we were all chatting about life and all that at the end of the courses.. a participant was telling us all about a chap she had met when out and said "he was good looking, possibly spanish, well he was foreign anyway". Phil's half German and he makes the most jokes about it. The old boy next door, is however, a total racist bigot (out of ignorance, I think) and I do have to bite my tongue sometimes, and have been known to put him right.
