Cinnamon
The nipples on my Superglugs have frozen solid this morning....they all have little blocks of ice all around them This is a really big disadvantage, as with the old Glug you just had to smash the ice....now I need to go & pour hot water on the frozen bits. Frozen nipples - sounds painful
Tina C
Only on this forum could you get away with starting a discussion like that ....

The Dogmother
My glug was frozen this morning, but the bunny bottle was ok as it's under the run cover, the water was slightly turgid but not actually frozen. Sarah - could you rub some vaseline on the nipples to stop them freezing? I just love this thread
Guest
I thought about those this morning when I was smashing the ice in our glugs and wondered what would happen in the nipple type. Now I know! Additives might be the only possible answer.
The Dogmother
I can't remember exectly how they are constructed, but they are quite small, so would freeze more easily. I'd trickle some olive oil on and in the nipples or put vaseline in them

Rabbieboy
I hope no one mentions "Male" chickens with frost bite that need vaseline on their head. Did I just take that to far.
MaggieMcHen
You beat me to it - I have just come up to the computer to post a "frozen nipples" message. I will bring in the second 'old' style glug at night and they can drink from that until the 3!!!!!!!!! nipples defrost later in the morning. feemcg
Don't know but I do remember a rather gorgeous junior doctor stripping off his shirt and showing us his 3 nipples
SueSteve
Our glug was completely solid this morning! We have another waterer, so filled that and gave it to them until we could get the glug defrosted!
Goosey Lucy
I've started bringing my glug in at night. Well I say 'I' but actually I mean I despatch ES to close up the run and door and bring the glug down to the house 'cos it's too cold for me... Snowy
Scaramanga had three! My nipples were OK this morning, but there was a layer of ice on top of the water. I was just thinking that this was much better as they can still get the unfrozen water via the nipples! Will have to keep an eye on them! Egluntyne
Scaramanga had three! So has Lily Allen. Seems an extraordinary thing to go public about, but she demonstrated the fact on prime time telly.
