Suggestion - Light for cube

Recommended Posts

Egluntine, where do you manage to FIND all this stuff? No sooner had someone posted a question, but you are off with an answer with your posh purple link- it takes me half an hour to even attempt a posh purple link

one day I'll manage it with speed.

 I'm...ahem...."working from home" and find the temptation to look at the forum every so often to difficult to resist....then I get intrigued by a question and have to satisfy my own curiosity.

The links are easy once you know how. It took me ages to work out how to do them in the first place though......

Hi Les

I am thinking of putting a solar light in my run. It would be switched on in the morning to give my girls and hour or so extra daylight. I wasn't sure how it would get switched off though to enable the solar thingy to charge up during the day :? as I would have gone to work. A timer would be good :D OH is an electrical engineer so I will ask him later on to see if it is possible to rig up a timer to the light.

We are living in the twilight zone here :( Dark by 4pm and is going to be dark at just after 3pm in a few weeks. Light at 8am, more like 9am also in a few weeks time :( I open the Eglu door at 7.30am but the girls just stay inside. Get home at 3.10pm and the girls have already gone to bed :(

I have a solar light for the shed which cost £12 from Instore, I am on the lookout for another one for the run.

I had to take Lauren for a hospital check up today - and they were so late that I didn't get back until 4pm.............

It was getting dark here as well and collecting eggs must have resembled some strange sort of speed dating

'Dinners' - Quail - Ducks - Turkeys - 5 pens with hens........... all getting ready for bed.........

Water? - check....

Feed? - check....

Here's some corn - now give me the eggs - all at a fast trot

I could certainly have used a light.

I have a light on a timer - just a single 60w bulb - and I have it on from 4-6pm. It's getting dark here at the moment around 3.45 so it's just to give the girls a wee bit extra and give me more time to fill feeders etc. if I haven't managed it during the day. I don't close the run door until after the light has gone out so they are free to go in and out the run to the garden - and know that if they come up to the back door the light will come on there too.
