Guest
Is there an M2 (Motorway) ?
Sheilaz
Not near here as far as I know...I was wondering that Graham. Perhaps it's somewhere up north I know the M1, 3, 4, 5 & 6. There must be a 2. That's why I looked at this thread, I always learn something new on this forum!
Guest
Yes, there is an M2 - it's in Kent It goes from near Rochester to near Faversham.. you'll have seen it signposted if you've ever travelled south through the Blackwall Tunnel Phil
Lesley-Jean
Mark 2 has a solid plastic grey base.
Popcorn
I thought this topic was about motorways and thought I might learn something about the M2 hee hee....I'm glad someone else is on my wave-length Sheila. I saw the topic title and thought - 'yes, how can you tell the difference between 2 motorways?'. Thought I was missing out on some vital motorway spotting then! Good luck with the egly hunt

That's why I've missed it, not very often down that way. Thanks Lesley Jean, now we have a complete description of the mark 2. Another thing learnt on this forum! I hope the Eglu info has been useful for the viewing that inspired this topic. Do you mind if we go onto motorways now? Thanks Gina, for the reassurance! Now, one of my favourite motorways would be either from Leeds to Hull, so quiet! Or, M18 from M1 on the way to, er Hull. Any other favourites? M6 toll road? What a topic, I can start motorway spotting. Alongside ticking off the names of Eddie Stobart lorries.
The Dogmother
Rosie makes me toot and wave at Eddies! We always get a toot back though
ali-s
My son Jack used to collect Eddie Stobart names. He is too old for that now (so he tells me) when I suggest the game. Once went passed the depot at Penrith and we had to stop..... for nearly an hour while he made his list
Lesley-Jean
I love the M6 going over Shap. The Westmorland sevices at Teebay are the best in the world
Mel (& Paul)
Hi Guest. Dont worry we all tend to go seriously off topic at the drop of a hat I hope your eglu viewing went well Do let us know how you got on. We're a friendly bunch
Cate in NZ
He hee, I know both M1 (use it when I travel up to see my Mum) and the M2 (a continuation of the A2) because it takes me pretty much to the Channel tunnel & Dover for my French jaunts. I also know all about Eglu M1 & M2, having one of each in my garden But you've all covered the differences brilliantly. Oh, boy am I smug now, actually being well informed about all angles of this thread. Doesn't happen often (that I know much I mean) Edited January 26, 2006 by Guest

Popcorn
Can you believe we've filled a whole thread talking about motorways We really are amazing aren't we I have a favourite bit of motorway. It's on the M1 on the way to Nottingham. For a while it feels really dark as there are really tall trees on either side of you, and then suddenly you hit this wide open space with beautiful colourful fields, and I always smile about it - everytime! I hate the M6. With parents living in the West Mids, it's my only route home, and I dread the journey. I have to get off the M6 at Junction 8, so I can't even enjoy the toll road either
Cate in NZ
Ah, Gina, now we've switched to the topic of hated motorways I could embark on a long, lovely, glorious rant about the world's biggest car park.... the M25 . Oh, the hours I've wasted twiddling my thumbs and enjoying the wonderful scenery just sitting in stationary traffic on it
Popcorn
I've only been on the M25 once. I was on it for so long I think I have done my quota for life
Lesley-Jean
I also like the M40 because there are lots of Red Kites near Oxford.
Lesley
Yes LJ - near High Wycombe. We chatted about those a long while ago on here.We love watching them I like the M54 - M6 to the A5 and on to North Wales/Anglesey to my Mum's

Sheilaz
This is so funny because I was just being silly & joking that we could all start motorway spotting. Weird sense of humour I know. Perhaps I wasn't joking ...it's a great thread! Yes, KateA, I deliberately didn't mention the M25 (agh) because it can be so ....agh! & yet it's the most obvious route for us to many places from here, so I know it only too well. We try to avoid south on M1 on Sunday evenings...from 4pm-12 I reckon, it is go slow/stop for the last 50 miles to London. Of course, that's just the time which is difficult to avoid if we've been visiting family or friends for a Sun or w/e. Now, back to favourite motorways! Oh, and I do find the writing too small to read on some of the E.S. lorries! Clare T, I'm sure you make the lorry driver's day!
The Dogmother
I also like the M40 because there are lots of Red Kites near Oxford. The red kites near High Wycombe wheel over the outlaws farm at Radnage, they are soo beautiful. Kate, getting Rosie Eddie spotting stops her incessantly asking 'when are we going to get there?', although she has now discovered the joys of a portable CD player, and that keeps her quiet for hours. Mel (& Paul)
I love Dorset - because there are NO motorways You get some beautiful scenery and the chance to drive at 15 miles an hour behind a tractor or, if you are REALLY lucky you can speed along at 30mph behind a caravan
