bellekatz
I had my christmas delivery form Ocado today - cant face fighting my way round heh shops. It was my turkey as well so was glad that there were no substitutions and nothing out of stock, absolutely everything was there!! Well done waitrose
Goosey Lucy
Snap! Ocado are brill. My full delivery arrived at 8:10 this morning and was put away by 8:30. No stress, no tears. Hope I don't sound as if I'm bragging but there are often times when shopping for many things, not just food, when I could happily howl in despair. I detest shopping, don't like mooching for bargains and just want it all over and done with as quickly and painlessly as possible. I've tried deliveries from Teso, Sainsbury and Asda before and none compare with Ocado for service, quality or promptness.

Paola
I have only just started doing my food shopping on-line and it really does take the stress out of it Having done loads of my xmas shopping on-line has really made a huge diff to my stress levels this year
Egluntyne
Even though there is a fee, I think you still save money, as I find I think more carefully about what I need, and there is no impulse buying!
Couperman
'These aren't just shelves,...... these are super pristine empty M&S shelves' Just popped into town to finish off my Christmas shopping, I have seen more civilised looting. I have just discovered that I am invisible too! People were blatantly pushing past, shoving each other and bumping into me. I picked up one item, it looked like it was the last one and a little shell suit clad middle aged woman tried to take it off me! I wasn't going to buy it till she did that! cheeky mare. Thank heavens for Tinterweb, next year I am going to buy everything that way. How long are the shops closed for? 24 hours is it? Most people in the supermarkets have bought enough food to survive a nuclear winter. Merry Christmas, everyone!! Kev.
BeckyBoo
Last year I was working on the run up to Christmas (I'm a copper in the control room) and we had not one but several reports of fights in the supermarket car parks between 11pm and 3am! I had decided to go after my shift but changed my mind - they'd had to shut the shop to let people filter out before they could let more people in and people were actuallly fighting over parking spaces, sprouts, you name it. It is funny, but actually it's a bit sick isn't it. I mean Christmas has been coming for the last 11 1/2 months or so, are things really going to be ruined just because you didn't manage to get brandy butter or whatever? Mind you, if someone tried to take something out of MY hands I would not only buy it I'd make sure I was standing at the same till as her! Merry Bloomin' Christmas!! rachel19
I used to work in Marks and Spencer around christmas and a guy actually bought his turkey back and threw it at a member of staff as it wouldn't fit in his oven Hardly Marks and Spencers fault! My mum ordered our goose about a week and a half ago and it was delivered on Thurs - v excited as never had goose before! Tesco's is totally manic here, the big roundabout outside it was completely blocked with cars - their fault really as they decided to make the store bigger by expaning into the carpark so it's now huge with less parking
chrisnrob
I used to work in Marks and Spencer around christmas Me too! I had never seen grown women fighting over turkeys until then. And the lady who came in at about 6pm on Christmas Eve and asked where the cream was. I told her that we'd sold out at about 11am that morning and she said "Well what am I supposed to do now?" (a) as if it was my fault and (b) as if someone had just told her that afternoon that Christmas Day was tomorrow!! Rob
Guest
I've seen fisticuffs in Tesco over the last pack of chipolatas. My turkey is stuffed and clothed in bacon and butter, sitting in the fridge ready for lift-off, the chipolatas and roasties are cooked and cooled, ready to be reheated and crisped as the turkey cools tomorrow, veggies are boiled and sitting in water, profiteroles are made, and everything else is at a stage where I can afford to relax a bit tomorrow.. Oh, Shona, you are so organised I wish I was I was expecting a quiet day at work today, but not on your nelly, I can't work out why all these good folk came to see me rather than go Christmas shopping or wrap a present, or something, but no they just kept on trooping in. Madness . So I've got home, welcomed MIL, made a special Christmas Eve dinner and now everyone is replete (and sozzled ) I should be prepping veg, but instead feet up, cup of coffee and a quick forum catch up . I'll peel the spuds soon...........after I log off
One Man Banned
Gosh doesn't it make you we've had a lovely Christmas Eve as Joe's brother and partner are staying with us and all the shopping was completed days ago. Trying very hard to type clearly as I've had a few glasses of wine and using a loan laptop from PC world (will make a thread after Christmas about that debacle ) Only wish the laydees would lay me some eggs, I mean why choose now to go off lay Joe is upstairs wrapping my pressies, we made first course for tomorrow earlier and it will be a heavenly Christmas morning, no stress no worry and lots of fun A xx
Guest
We wandered into Billericay yesterday just for a mooch around the charity shops and to check out the sale in my favourite clothes shop. The high street wasn't too busy but Waitrose looked like absolute murder. Longest queue I stood in was in Costa Coffee!
